  1. So here we are, the dreaded "for sale" mail. I've been a "lurker" on this site for about 10 years now. I imported my Zed myself approximately 9 years ago. I currently have a double garage, with two hobby cars. I'm moving soon, but my new house only has a single garage, and as much as it pains me, the Zed has picked the short straw. Good things about my Zed: It has 2 new turbos New clutch New engine mounts New water pump New radiator and cap Decent tread tyres all round New cam belt No rust Only done 63,637 KM, never driven in the wet since I've had it. New battery Bad things: Speedo still reads KPH The dash board has done the "thing" near the windscreen. Needs an MOT, but don't expect any issues from this. Needs tax Has a private plate I need to save Smokes a bit as I drove it for a while with a leaky turbo, and now I have oil in the intercoolers. Needs a few miles on it to be honest, but I've not driven it enough since I had all the work done listed above. As you can see, it doesn't look standard, but it's pretty much stock and compared to other I've seen recently, considering it's age, it's almost mint. I'm not sure what to ask for it, as I've spent plenty on it and I am attached to it as you can all understand! I'm not advertising it any where else yet, as I'd rather sell it to a fellow Zedder who I know will look after it as I have. ( Sad innit!) I think I'm looking for about 6k as there nothing really that needs doing other than the legal stuff. Definitely not a breaker. Let me know if you need anything else from me, if you're in the market for one, and you would like to see it, please let me know. Simon.
  2. A garage call AFR tuning. It's near to where I work. http://www.afrtuning.co.uk/
  3. Just out of interest, where is the thermostat, and is it easy to get to and change?
  4. I fooking love this forum! I've fed back to the garage and they'll have another crack at it later.....
  5. Cheers guys! I appreciate the help so far. I'll let you know how it goes, and hopefully get some pictures up when it's back home and cleaned up! Might even start posting once I get a working Zed?
  6. That's what was confusing. There's no oil in the water, and no water in the oil! And as you say, it runs well!
  7. Now that's the type of answer/suggestion I was hoping for!
  8. Hi Guys, Ok, so this post was going to be "another Zed back on the road" type thing. It's a long story that I won't bore you with right now, but after six years of sitting in my garage, I've finally got the Zed fixed. Almost... It's had two new turbos, water pump, clutch, engine mounts, cam belt and tensioners. I picked it up a couple of weeks ago and it felt amazing, I felt confident that nothing would let me down as there's nothing left to go wrong. (I know, I know......!) So after about 30 miles, I noticed the temperature gauge quickly rising. Stopped and got it recovered only to find no water in the cooling system. The garage took it back, pressure tested the system, found no leaks and had it idling for a while with no problems. I tried to drive it home again and after about 20 miles, the same thing happens. This time my mate was following me and saw water coming out from under the car, like I was driving through a puddle. I pulled into a road and stood in front of the car, watching water pour out from somewhere. Difficult to see where exactly, (it was dark) but it looked to be in line with the rad cap, but not coming from the rad cap. So here we are, the garage (who have been great) are scratching their heads, none of us are trying to think "head gasket", but has anyone else had this or have any ideas? I really want it to be the thermostat, but don't know if a "sticky" one would cause this behaviour? The pressure test was done up to 2 bar. What better place to come than here for some assistance? Help....I'm so close to getting there! Simon.
  9. Cheers Legrath, trouble is, the Zed's a non-runner, so I'm kind of limited at the moment?
  10. Sounds like a challenge to me? See how many daft threads I can think up! Just searched for Jimmer, didn't twig that he's a member! I Might be a bit out of his area though?
  11. FunkySi, thanks for the heads up! Who and where is Jimmer? Bantambunny, might be? Haven't made my mind up yet! Nice to be a part of all the sarcasm for a change......yeah, I've been watching!
  12. Morning Stu, Up early aren't you? I'm in Peacehaven, where abouts are you? I've done a little bit of work myself, I don't claim to be a mechanic, but I can work stuff out. What needs doing now though is a bit beyond me and my facilities! Hopefully, I'll catch you soon. Simon.
  13. Cheers boys! "Me time" that's the nail on the head right there! Nearly finished the shopping list. I guess I should subscribe so I can put some piccies up? You know, it's funny, I've been reading posts and advice for so many years on this site, now you're chatting with me it's like I'm talking to celebrities or something? All I need now is for Stella to say hi and my first thread will almost be complete!
