I would argue that he's going to a better team. Different team maybe, but not better. OK, he's made a career decision to move on but I feel he's a bit short sighted and missing out on a great opportinity to play for what I think will be a fantastic spurs team next season. Look what happened to Wright-Phillips when he went to Chelsea.

As a Spurs fan, to hell with him I say. He's a fantastic player but clearly has no loyalty and is just a gold digger. He had a great future at Spurs and next season promised to be really great. He's showed his intent that he doesn't want to play for Spurs so Jol had no choice in letting him go. I have faith that Jol will use the £18M to buy good replacements. Do you agree?

There's a nice article in this month's "Practical Classics" mag comparing the 300ZX (looks very similar to mine) to a Renault Alpine GTA V6 (p38). As I've never driven the GTA I don't know if the author is right when he he says he'll "take the Renault Alpine GTA, thank you very much" because his heart dominates his head, but I know which car looks the best! Any comments?

Hi, no Broadband or internet connection at all for 2 weeks now. This message is coming from my work line. We were quite happy with Wannadoo at the old pace, but then Orange bought them out and decided to upgrade everyone to a higher speed. Big mistake. We had no choice in the matter and are still internet-less despite several phone calls to Orange's call centres. God knows how much it's cost me in phone bills. Apparently they are going to send us another modem thingy and if that fails send round an engineer to fix it. How long will that take? I reckon "if it ain't broke don't fix it" and that applies to Z32's as well. I shall be refusing to pay this month's Broadband bill.

Surely, we can still have a meet and a pose anyway. Break a world record into the bargain. There must be some other charity that would be glad of the publicity? (how about "poor ZX drivers"). I would have thought that the difficult job would have been getting the police and highways agencies on board which you've already done. Well done!

1995 N/A Auto 2+2. (bog standard throughout) I've noticed that the dashboard display is very poorly lit at night despite the variable setting on max. I have difficulty seeing the numbers. (I am getting a bit old and I may need to change my glasses). Prior to this Z, I had an X reg Silvia Turbo with a similar problem. A mate of mine who serviced it for me simply replaced the bulbs with staggering effect. Is it a simple job to do the same on a Z, or is it a question of "dashboard out"? Any ideas?

Message for tpv01: If you're interested in reading about the history of Z cars from the original Datsun SPL212 Fairlady in 1960 to the latest Nissan 350Z currently being manufactured then I can recommend a book by Brian long titled "Nissan 300ZX, 350Z The Z-car Story" by Veloce publishers (http://www.veloce.co.uk). It's a good read and covers in detail the questions you're asking and includes good pics too. I got my copy from Amazon.

Got a 1995 Jap Import NA Auto and there's a small two way rectangular switch just forward and to the right of the drive selector. At the top it reads "POWER", on the switch itself it reads "A/T", and at the bottom "HOLD". The bloke that sold it to me said I should drive around with it in "POWER" setting. What the hell does it do because I haven't noticed any difference what setting it's on? Any ideas guys? PS car drives great anyway.

Sorry to hear about the damage to such a great car. I had a similar thing happen to me last November. Just taken delivery of import ZX in September when I was hit by (you guessed it) an 80yr old dement who was pissed as a fart. Old Bill took his licence away but left me with the whole of my off side damaged..every panel. Fortunately fully comp insurance covered it but it took 2 months for the new door to arrive from Japan. Also 'cos the bloke was pissed and Old Bill arrested him, his ins co paid for the lot including £500 XS. Sorry no pics and I can't help you with the parts. I'm new to this game.
