Head gasket??
Quick update. Everything thing seems fine. It must of been the accumulation of 17 years of old antifreeze sat in the engine. Flushed it out every thing is fine.

Head gasket??
Ah, I see. I've been on boost no problem and the temperature sticks at half way on the guage, no over heating. I'll flush her out at the weekend and report back, thank you.

Head gasket??
So do you think mine will be corrosion instead of the head gasket? I'm going to flush it out at the weekend and see how it goes.

Head gasket??
I recently checked my oil and water and found that the radiator filler neck was clogged with orange gunk! My car has been off the road for 17 years but it has always had antifreeze in it and not just water, which i changed about 3 moths ago. I've now done 400 miles and checked the radiator a month ago and it was clean. Could this be head gasket? There is no creamy gunk under the oil cap or dipstick, the car doesn't smoke or over heat. Because it's orange could it just be rust out of the water ways that has eventually worked it's way out after being stood for so long? The day before it was 30 plus degrees and I took the car out for some exuberant driving so wondered if the engine got a bit warmer than normal. I flushed the gunk out and I've done 30 miles since and the gunk hasn't re appeared. Any ideas?

Sounds like battery, or battery connection. Clean the terminal posts and tighten the battery clamps. If mine aren't really tight it just clicks.

Buying from Torqen - any member experiences?
I've ordered stuff from them without any problems. Their stuff usually takes about 10 days to come. I think they don't keep much in stock, and order it from Concept Z Performance (CZP). Don't quote me on that tho. I order from CZP in the states quite regularly, and stuff comes in about 4 days, great service.

What's this connector.
Cheers for looking. I wonder if it's something the Nissan technician uses to plug something in? My cars been off the road for over 10 years. I was just about to put it through it's mot, when I realised the instrument cluster lights weren't working. I was hoping this plug was the answer, and i just needed to plug it in somewhere.

Car revving on it's own.
A quick update. Finally got to work on the car today. Started her up and the revs were stuck on 3000 revs, not revving up and down like before. Unplugged the MAF, and the engine just stalled. While looking at this I noticed the throttle was slightly open. I tried to rev it where the cable connects to the throttle bodies, but the cable was tight. Traced it back and found that I had pulled the throttle cable back when I had changed the coil pack and injector connectors. Pulled it back to it's original position put it back in to the bracket, hey presto, sorted. I have still no idea why the revs were origionally jumping up and down. Thankyou for the MAF idea that i could rule out, without checking that I probably wouldn't have noticed the throttle.

Car revving on it's own.
I'll try the Maf in the morning. I unpluggeg the tps, but isn't that high revs not fluctuating revs? I'd also bought a new PTU from CZP in the US, but Fed Ex managed to lose it when it got to Leeds! Hopfully it will turn up in the next couple of days.
