How good are Z Brakes
Service the calipers, fit Audi S8 345mm front discs (if you have larger after market wheels) and make the spacers to stand the calipers away from the hub centre toward the outer circumference of the disc. Great brakes at very little costs. If you have the standard wheels then I wish you the best of luck because they are p**s poor.

Big Brake recommendations
With the increased diameter you need a simple small plate for each calliper. Made mine out of some 10mm thick steel plate off cut I had lying around and then drilled 4 holes. Very simple, effective and cheap. There are 2 sizes of S8 discs but you need the 345mm. Straight fit and add the calliper brackets. Do not fit with std size wheels though which is probably the reason for the original sized discs. Have 18's on mine and just clear. EBC website has a fitment chart so easy to find by the way.

Big Brake recommendations
To be fair, I've never driven a low mileage example but have been in many that have been refurbished and have never been that inspired. Perhaps been unlucky but still think for the minimal cost of a new set of S8 discs over std, the gains are very noticeable and well worth it if you were going to fit new discs anyway. JMHO of course.

Big Brake recommendations
STD brakes are frightening if you're used to a modern car. For those on a budget, simple and cheap fix is to use the Audi S8 front discs, 345mm, with stock front calipers and a decent quality set of pads. Brakes as good as anything I've driven on. Didn't upset the front/rear bias either as most of the braking force is on the front axle anyway. Bought new EBC discs and made the spacers to off-set the callipers. The benefits of big discs are a higher rotational speed at the pad face and greater heat sink abilities. No need for anything better on the road I found, and capable of repeated high speed stops, with much less pedal force. Big brakes don't equal shorter stopping distances but do equal repeat performance and more importantly confidence. Hope that helps.

For Sale. 1994 UK manual 300ZXTT, 2 owners.
1994 UK manual 300ZXTT, 2 owners from new. £6,995 or very near offer!! NOW £4995 05/May/1994 1st Registered Supplied to a banker in London as a company car on a 2 year lease. 01/May 1996 Bought from the lease company by the Banker and owned until I purchased 08/Dec 2001 Bought by myself and owned until present. Service book shows 16 stamps all at Dan Perkins, Middlesex (Nissan Dealership) up to 94,073 miles, at which point I took over ownership and the servicing. (Wallet with original owners manual and service book will be supplied to new owner) Throughout my ownership the car has only ever been a summer toy (only ever been taxed for 6 out of any 12 months) and has never seen a winter road. The car has also been garaged its entire life. The car was purchased by me with slightly smoky exhausts and this was later put down to suspect turbo seals. Over one winter, the engine was stripped to the last nut and bolt and rebuilt with all new genuine Nissan parts. Pistons and Rings Mains and crank bearings and seals Camshaft bearings and seals Valve stem oil seals Oil Pump Water pump Full timing belt with all rollers All aux belts RPS Stage 1 clutch Turbos sent to a specialist for full rebuilds. The engine was in such good condition that at nearly 100K miles the Nissan honing marks could still be seen below the top 1/3 of the bores and all bores in as new tolerances. Crankshaft was also still in manufacturing tolerance of new. The work was carried out by myself and a very clever mechanic who used to look after all my cars and was done with no expense spared as I had intended to keep the car forever. All was perfect except that we ever so slightly nicked the A/C condenser and this wasn’t noticed until after the car was completed and run. As the start of the summer had arrived, I put off replacing this and never got done so the A/C has never been used since. (Still have the replacement condenser rad here and it will be supplied with the car) During my ownership the ECU was sent to Jim Wolf Technologies in the states and was fitted with his upgrade chip. List of upgrades. JWT Chip Tokico Ilumina 5 way adj shocks Mania Racing 18 inch wheels (originals also supplied with car) 345mm Dia Front discs (massive improvement) Custom S/S Exhaust with X pipe by Torque Tube Deleted Headlight washer jets (Pipework blocked off at bumper but easily reconnected) Helix uprated clutch driven plate Poly bushes to diff and rear subframe Top hard pipe kit. Adjustable camber arms ( new in bag) for front and rear will be supplied with the car to be fitted by the new owner. Full set of poly bushes for complete suspension inc rack will be supplied also as never fitted. During another winter off the road a good friend of mine with a body shop finally got round to his promise of stripping the car back to bare shell and repainting. The paint was supplied by Specialist Paints, who had just started up having recently developed the Multi flip at DuPont and supplied me with an exact copy of their colour. The colour is a rich blue on the face tone and flips depending on direction of the sun between Black and Gold at the extremes, with bronze and purple between. The flip paint was applied over a straight black base coat and is extremely easy to blow in and match. I still have ½ litre of the original paint to go with the car. The paintwork is in near perfect condition except for a few bubbles on the rear spoiler as shown. The sound was upgraded with Infinity speakers to the front and rear. Trial removable speaker shelf worked well and never replaced with a fully enclosed box as intended. A 12 disc JVC auto-changer and head unit supported by a pair of 660W Intimidator Amps.(1 amp supplies the front speakers, the other the back speakers) The original T-Top bags are still in there correct place in the boot. The Targa sun shades are also present. Full electric seats inc seat heaters. (As with everything else, all working perfectly) Carpets in as new condition and supplied with the original Nissan car mats front and rear. I intend to only advertise the car on this forum as I would like it to go to an enthusiast who will take it to the next level and not destroy it. The car is garaged, SORN’d and not MOT’d at the moment. If anyone is interested I will insure it and put 12 months MOT on the car prior to collection. Any info required please PM me. OVN Offers will be considered but please, no low-ball ones. Many other photos if required.

Subframe bushes, removal - Options?
I did the subframe and diff bushes in a day with help from a mate a few years back. I fitted the poly bushes rather than solid after talking to and taking advise from many who had done both. Can't remember where I bought the kit from but think it was Z World or similar. The kit came with outer steel shells and seemed to be the most comprehensive solution leaving nothing of the old to go wrong. Just my OCD I expect but wanted to do it once and only once. All I would say is that it's a full days work from driving in to driving out but the results are well worth it. The sound is a little more "raw", a bit more race car but not annoying at all. More a feel thing to me. I was advised that unless tracking the car, the solid were a bit over the top. A fly press would be great but some thread bar, various sockets and nuts will get you there. Need to take care as the front and rears on the subframe are from memory replaced in a slightly different way. Remove the guts of the bush and cut the outer sleeve with a hacksaw carefully. Then fold inward and cut again if required. Taking your time is the key to success I think with these. Obviously get the powder coating done before fitting the new bushes and make sure the holes are properly blanked off as any powder in there is a nightmare to remove before refitting new steel sleeves.

Potential business expansion... potential Zed sale...?
Would there be any mileage in renting a different house with maybe a double garage or space for a workshop thereby increasing space available but keeping the business on site and increasing overheads only very slightly? Congrats on having such a good orderbook by the way, many companies would trade a limb to be in that position. Unless you are going to add extra bodies to get through the work faster, increase throughput and at least cover the additional costs you would add more stress and hassle for no reward. IMHO of course.

Thanks mate,?

Hi everyone from new member.
Thanks Gaz, appreciate not everyone will like the colour but I think it looks well on a bright sunny day. Not bad for a 14 year old paint job hey? Lol

Hi everyone from new member.
Yes that's it! Lovely looking car and love the rear arches. When I first looked into the "flip" paint, the only one I liked was made by DuPont at £800 per litre and I was told I'd need 5 litres. Luckily the guy who engineered the colour left DuPont to set up on his own and I was one of his first customers. Still cost me a few vital organs but less than DuPont wanted. Thanks for the pictures. I remember a stunt team called "steer from the rear" using the same colours on their 300's!

Hi everyone from new member.
Thanks for that, appreciated. Perhaps someone looking for a Zed will be equally appreciative when I list her for sale!!!

Hi everyone from new member.
Yes, I'd seen that but couldn't blow the avatar up large enough for a proper look.
-
Hi everyone from new member.
Well thank you kind Sir! I think the curves do the flip justice whereas flat angled panels just look like someone sprayed each Panel a different colour! Appreciate the +ve comment but understand it's a Marmite thing. In really bright sunlight, flips from jet black to very gold.

Hi everyone from new member.
Or one LSD Tab too many perhaps?! lol. Well, I liked it, but I know some loved it, some hated it. The best thing is the PPG lacquer, this has been washed with a sponge and bucket for years and there isn't a single swirl mark on it. Paint is diamond hard!! So much for progress and saving the environment! :cool2:

Hi everyone from new member.
Hello again guys. So I finally had time today to get the old girl out of the garage and give her a quick wash. (Did the car at the same time!, so thought I'd post up a few photos of my Marmite coloured 300ZXTT) Now everyone is going to realise why I get called Dipstick (and some other less choice names) when I ask if anyone can provide me with an idiot's guide (and I do me complete idiot!!) to uploading photos please. I have used the search button above and got a list of threads but couldn't see one about how to post photos and I have no idea about "photobucket!" or how to use it. Please don't despair, I'm one of the original Flintstones!! Any help ( expecting abuse:blushing:) very much appreciated.

Hi everyone from new member.
Guys. Many thanks to all of you for taking the time to r Ely and offer your views and comments. I think I need to get some photos done and subscribe to the forum. Will be posting back soon. Thanks.

Hi everyone from new member.
No, you are spot on. You put money in for the love of the car, very rarely do you see much of it back. I'd just like to see it go to a real enthusiast if I were to sell it, not to someone who will wrap it round a tree on the first wet day they had it!! Lol.
