Keys, locks and ignition barrel
Hi all, I've been bumped by an eBay seller who was breaking a 300zx. Told me he would take all the barrels off the doors, boot and ignition and send them to me with all the fixings. He has basically sent me trash. It's not even worth the weight in metal. The key is bent so barely goes in the barrels. There are no fittings. One of the door locks doesn't even have the part that connects to the lock. All the springs are rusted/seized. I even drowned them in plusgas and left them but they're beyond rescue. Just awful. Thankfully there's paypal to get my money back but still a massive annoying having to send this trash back. So... anyone got a lock/ignition/key set they'd be willing to part with? Thanks! - - - Updated - - - Forgot to mention, the car I got came with no barrels anywhere, that's why I need the fixings/fittings! :)

Hello People
Unwatching now. Thanks!! I was wondering why there were bullet connectors there. I thought maybe 1993 they didn't believe in connectors... :D

Hello People
Already watching the last one. It's the only one I found suitable but hate 7 day auctions. Quotes from part breakers at the moment are ranging £95-120.
- Wing mirrors - both sides Jap Spec in Silver

Hello People
Thanks! I'll give that a go! - - - Updated - - - That's be cool! I've only seen one other 300zx in the past 2 months around here. A really clean looking green one.

Hello People
Thank you... for making me spray my tea all over my keyboard! hahaha Currently getting quotes from breakers for jap spec mirrors in silver. They were the first things I wanted to change but then I thought being able to lock/open the door properlys and it being secure might just be slightly more important :D

Transmission Oil Cooler / Radiator Replacement
Wow, that's really helpful! Thanks! Is that the zcenter way of doing it? I notice they have a kit that you can do that with. Is your "old auto box cooler" the same as the oil cooler I already have in my car? Or should I follow what you did and get a new cooler for the oil and use your pipes to route to my current oil cooler?

Hello People
Haha thanks! To be honest, this one is a total non rush job. I will do it all bit by bit as long as it takes to do it right! I've had cars in worse condition that I've managed to turn around in 1-2 months, I'm thinking 4-5 months on this. Doesn't help that I've got two young kids now that take up most of my time... :D

Transmission Oil Cooler / Radiator Replacement
Hi all, Taking on my first proper mechanical project on the 300zx that I've acquired and it's going to be sorting out the radiator that has a hole in it. I'm thinking of installing a manual Radiator and then installing an Oil Cooler for the gearbox oil. Looking at something like this for the oil cooler: It seems a fairly simple enough job, but there are a few things I'm hoping someone can help with: 1) When I put the oil cooler in, should I top that up with autobox oil first or let the car run and top up based on the oil level? 2) The oil cooler kits that I've seen come with AN10, AN8, or AN6 hoses. Does anyone know which AN size would be best suited and how do these replace the existing cable as they seem to come with some screw attachments but the existing ones are simple clamp hoses? 3) Am looking to mount this behind the fan under the nose. Anyone know how to securely mount these types of radiators securely? 4) For the actual radiator, is it worth spending more on the 2 or 3 core radiators? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello People
Got a few: So as you can see - body needs quite a bit of attention! Also needs: - Mirrors (no idea what mirrors these are!!) - Door and ignition barrels (all ordered) - Rear centre light has a hole in it Not too concerned about the leather seats, I've done patch work/filler on seats before and they've come up OK looking. Am thinking once I've sorted all the body issues, of going for an electric blue colour or something. Not sure if I'll go for a full respray or a wrap yet.

Hello People
Hi All, Joining the 300zx owners club only because I had it as a poster on my wall in my teens :D I'm a tinker and love to fix things in cars myself. I've had projects in the past where I've bought cars that were about to be sold for parts or scrapped and I've fixed them up (E30 BMWs and VWs mainly). I've currently got a BMW 645Ci convertible as my weekend car that I do most of the work on myself (engine work, suspension/brakes, electrical etc). It's pretty easy to work on BMWs as there are so many online resources available. Also got a 4 series as a daily driver but there's no tinkering on that one :) The 300zx I've picked up is a project car. - The bodywork needs quite a bit of attention although sills and underneath seem clean - The leather seats are cracked all over. - The radiator has a hole in it - Twin Turbo engine sounds great as does the autobox. - It's all still original, no modified exhaust, boost controllers or even air filter. Only thing non original on the car are the alloys. Ultimately I'll be doing the bodywork and priming myself and then get it painted at a pro shop. Also looking to dress up the engine a bit as well and make it look nice while changing the cambelt, waterpump, adding an oil cooler for the gearbox etc (can you see the type of questions I'll have??) Be gentle if I ask stupid questions, I've never worked on a Nissan before! :)
