  1. Clutch is only a year old, changed along with the release bearing, rear oil seal, centre bearing and rear gearbox mount at ZTech. Alarm indicator thing happened once before. It's the indicator relay that's either getting sticky or is moving around and getting stuck next to a magnet. I spoke to someone about it and they suggested just cutting the indicator wires (the beeps will let you know if it's armed). However it started working again before I had a chance to do so and it's been fine recently. Oh and the clutch pedal did need adjusting once as if the pedal's in the wrong position, the fluid heats up and the clutch starts to slip. Probably just needs adjusting again. Hope this helps, Ian A. (Former Owner)!

It needed some. Looks like it was a couple of injectors at fault. I've got a quote for the ones they used in the Jag XJ220. Will be back with a supercharger or LS7 power Ian A.

Nah, I think one of the hi-rev lifters is stuck on #8. Rolling road is giving me the picture before the big engine project (either a rebuild + Supercharger or transplant from a 7-litre Corvette Z06 engine). Reckon it'll make less than 300 horses tomorrow. Torque curve is usually interesting though, may need some volunteers to sit in the boot to stop the wheels spinning on the rollers. Ian A.

Ok, obviously we can't all get on the rollers at once and whilst I'm interested in other people's results, I'm afraid I don't have the time to hang around all day. Can we stagger it between am and pm or arrange slots? Ta, Ian A.

What time is this happening tomorrow?

Well, despite having sold the Zed , we'll still be there because I said we would and because you're all such lovely people. Audi is confirmed, I'll be running the TVR or the zed's replacement (Seat Leon diesel :o ) depending on whether the TVR's impending service fixes a slight misfire on #8 pot.
  7. Returned to Zed "specialist"

Erm, I'm sorry guys but it looks as though we'll have sold our Zed by the end of the month. Didn't see that happening when I put my name down. I'm still hoping to run the Audi and the TVR. 1. 300zx_girl 2. Scotty 3. Pig 4. IPAddis' brother (Audi A6 Quattro). 5. 9. Ok, ta. Will see if I can find a competent garage to fit the kit. Ian A.
  10. Did you fit it yourself or get someone to fit it? Bit worried about scare stories about eyeballs freezing when handling refrigerant! :wack: Nobody will touch it while it is still gassed with the drop-in replacement. Unless it suddenly develops a serious leak and drains all the refrigerant of course! Looks like I'll need to change it to accept R134a unless I can find a place which can recharge the drop-in replacement (within 100 miles!) Cheers for the help, Ian A.
  11. I'm all ears! :smw:
  12. Are you going to spill the beans or are you on commission? :) As mentioned, Kwikfit won't touch it unless it has been converted to R134a connectors. Ian A.
  13. Ok, summer has arrived and the air con has disappeared. Well it still works but it's not cold enough to cope with a hot sun and black interior. Ours is a Jap import which had the R12 gas originally fitted (not sure if UK cars are similar). The previous owners have had this recharged with drop-in replacement gas rather than changing the connectors and seals to be compatible with R134a. Problem is, I can't find anyone in the area who can top it up with the replacement gas. Any suggestions for suitable people on the south coast? Ian A.

I'd for up for that, just say when. Ian A.
  16. You need to see them to appreciate the lack of wear or ridges but here you go:
  17. Err, they look like brake disks. Plain non-drilled, non-grooved, internally vented brake disks. Very light surface rust on the edges and centres just due to being sat for a couple of weeks. Still, if you're interested, I could take a photo tonight? Ian A.
  18. Well that's an option, especially considering the calipers seem to be binding slightly but I'd rather spend the money on the other car at present. Ian A.
  19. Hi guys, Sorry I haven't been along to many meets recently. As some of you may know, Sarah and I are getting married in September so I've been busy sorting that out. Anyway, I recently bought some brake disks from the nearest Zed specialist (who shall remain nameless for various reasons). I was offered some Brembo disks for £175 ex vat! I was also offered some other disks which were of unknown make but fitted to a heavily modified car so I was assured that they were good quality. The owner had backed his Zed into a tree in a fairly major way but the front of the car was fine. The disks had only been on the car 3 weeks. I bought these disk a fair bit cheaper than £175 but when I attempted to fit them, I found out they were turbo disks and my 1991 N/A has narrower calipers. This is one reason why the Zed specialist shall remain nameless as I was ASSURED they were the same. Anywho, I now have a set of nearly new front TURBO-spec disks for sale for £50. I am posting on the South Central forum as they are f-ing heavy and hence I don't want to have to post them. Apologies to any moderators if this is not allowed. Anyone interested? I can bring them to the next meet (which I hope to attend!). Ian A.
  20. Are we still meeting on Sunday at the usual pub (just off M27)? Will there be more than 2 of us this time? ;) Ian A.
  21. I'll be there. What time though?! Edit: Ahh, 12pm. Check!
  22. I think I've managed to renew my subscription. The Paypal link from the User CP didn't work very well in IE7 until I added both the 300zx site and Paypal as trusted sites. I didn't get the opportunity to enter my username but hopefully you can tie it back. Ian A.

Sorry guys, didn't make it to this one. We had our engagement party on Saturday night so still pissed this morning. Will be at a meeting soon. Hope you all had fun. Ian A.

I'm going on this at the end of the month (afternoon session). 3 spare places for the morning session. Anyone interested? Ian a.
