  1. I did see that before but didn't really pay attention to it as it seemed so inaccurate.
  2. Had a good chat with him a bit back as I am loving the style of his impul bumper. What would be a guess at the number of Zed's total in the UK out of interest?
  3. Must have just been luck then, the first zed I met in person was pebkau's, and then Ash's. Also SLICKTOP has one but he's not on here often anymore
  4. Wait, only 20?? I could believe only 20 in the club, but in the UK?
  5. Happy birthday mate!
  6. *Implying i have small hands* ha, I've got the perseverance, less the time, but I enjoy doing stuff as long as I don't break stuff. Cheers
  7. I'm afraid that's not going to happen, for one, the garage quote I got was just shy of a grand to replace the timing belt and I haven't got anything near that big to spend. Secondly, it's my project car, and I would never learn anything if I always pay people to do it. The car isn't on the road and its not really a problem if it takes months before I finish it. So I'm finishing it.
  8. It's a socket with 12 teeth, so I guess that would be better, but I don't have one. I if the bottom one is the same as the top one the bolt is only about half an inch long. I'll have another go next week. Thanks for the suggestions guys.
  9. I'm not intending to, as long as I get the bolt out its no problem getting another one.
  10. I think I'll have a crack with some mole grips, if that doesn't work... I guess i will have to leave it in or something.
  11. I think it's a bolt not a nut so I don't think it will work.
  12. You are a sub now, just need to PM Gary for all the club membership stuff... http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?161407-F-A-O-NEW-Subscribed-Members-Info-needed EDIT: Oh, PM that to Gaz 300
  13. I tried a 9/16 as that was the closest it would fit, at this point anything that will get it off will do me good.
  14. Yes, thats what i thought was the problem at first but even a spanner fully on would just burr it in the end so I'm rather in a pickle.
  15. The 14mm socket will go over it fine, but the edge of the socket rests on the inside on the pulley so the ratchet leans out. I've put a 14mm wrench on it as well (the star end) and it just burrs the bolt, so i don't know if it is just seized or what. I've used wd 40 and stuff and still no results. Im still really suprised that the bolt is a 14mm, yet a 14mm spanner will just burr it when full on it :( Should i use Mole grips or something as a last effort to get it off? How do shops get off seized bolts? heat?
  16. Well, needless to say I'm quite pissed today. Timing belt work.... none: These bolts that tension the water pump/psp are well and truly stuck in and I managed to snap a spanner and i think I've rounded the top one mostly :( I am using a 14mm socket, none of the imperial ones fit so I suppose its the right one, but because of the position of the whole the socket will never go on straight. Am I doing something wrong? Then I snapped a 6mm allen key when removing the heater pipes, so i suppose i will have to buy a socket version to get more strength. Then there is this list of stuff that needs replacing before it goes back on the road: 3/4 tyres are either punctured or have no tread left, so i might as well replace all 4. Brake disks all around are very worn and have 1-2 mm ridge at the edges so will need replacing, and probably the pads as well as the braking is not very good. Need to get new/used coilovers for the front as the drivers side one has a crack in it.
  17. Oh dear Art, if the transmission can't change gears and is leaking fluids then that would flag for me transmission fluid, but I wouldn't know about the HICAS. Someone will tell you. Hopefully it is just a pipe and not a leak in the bell housing or something :)
  18. So the position is. You can have either a brand new halfords whatever rod, or one of the original rods that came with it (the other one is too short somehow). The halfords one is a little tricker to fit as it has a bigger hook, but they both fit and are long enough. If you have yourself some already that's fine.
  19. Welcome Steve, it does look very mint. Is the alternator the only problem with it that you know?
  20. That was my point but I'm more than happy to help him out if that's what he wants.
  21. Do you have an apple phone? unfortunately that seems to be a problem with apple devices. It does look really neat and much better than wrap that peels over time.
  22. I'll try and sort it out tomorrow. It is just long bolts and not the bracket right?
  23. I have a brand new rod but it would probably be cheaper to just go and buy one rather than for me to post it. If you want it you can have it free.
  24. Happy birthday Andrew
  25. There was a for sale thread, he was first to respond and it was sold to someone else, so he probably got quite angry. Sad to hear Rolondas, hope we cross paths in the future, and all the best :(
