  1. It was $30 shipping and tax ontop of the price so overall it was $69 ~£49 so make your mind up if you want to buy one off eBay.
  2. Damn memory  I wouldn't get the timing belt off ebay, but for everything else you could have a go, but here are some amazon links. http://www.amazon.co.uk/GATES-RUBBER-COMPANY-K040398-MICRO-V/dp/B000C2SI7S http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gates-K040365-Multi-V-Groove-Belt/dp/B01B3HN9RY http://www.amazon.co.uk/GATES-RUBBER-COMPANY-K040378-MICRO-V/dp/B000C2SIMS If the pulleys are different sizes that you are replacing (for extra performance or whatever) then you will probably need different size belts, but I cant tell you which ones.
  3. Hi, Mike right? Funnily enough I am in the middle of doing mine. Just some advise I would hand on and that's that you'll need a 6mm allen key socket, and a 27mm socket for the crankshaft pulley bolt. Do you have an automatic or a manual? If you have an automatic then you will need to take the starter motor out and wedge the flywheel in order to undo the crankshaft pulley bolt. Before you embark on it I would familiarise yourself with the steps as there are lots of bolts you might not think about loosening. I used but some of the pulleys were not so clear. The timing belt I bought from conceptZ but if i were you i would go somewhere else for the accessory belts, i bought Gates belts. power steering K040365 Compressor K040378 Alternator K040398 Though this might be different depending on what spec you car is and if you have aftermarket pulley sizes. Be me a message if you need anything else.
  4. I suppose I'm living in the past, newer highend sports/super cars often don't come in stick shift anymore. I thought paddle shifts were called dual clutch, and sequential gearboxes were on rally cars etc where you pull the stick one way to change up and the other to down, perhaps they are the same thing, I don't know
  5. My only moan is that its an automatic. but it must be great fun!
  6. If it sells for £6400, then that's good news for Z prices
  7. I bought mine for £2000 ~$3800 CA, which is cheap for here as a TT, but i suppose there is less work that needs doing to mine than yours (i think)
  8. Thanks for the info Tom, I suppose buying brakes if i buy it right the first time, i'm not going to have to replace them for years. so EBC http://www.ebcbrakeshop.co.uk/ebc--standard-brake-discs-d695_p4299032.htm and then yellowstuff pads: http://www.ebcbrakeshop.co.uk/nissan-100nx-20-19911994-ebc-front-yellowstuff-brake-pads-dp4839r_p23504744.htm http://www.ebcbrakeshop.co.uk/nissan-100nx-20-19911994-ebc-rear-yellowstuff-brake-pads-dp4889r_p23504747.htm Its going to burn a big hole in my pocket though :(
  9. And also weight Edit. Nvm they weigh the same :)
  10. Are there big differences between normal vented brakes: http://www.buycarparts.co.uk/abs/7710055 or bolted rotors: http://www.buycarparts.co.uk/delphi/258997 And i have no idea what are good or bad pads so these? http://www.bestpartstore.co.uk/2167230 http://www.bestpartstore.co.uk/2168134
  11. I noticed, I'm pretty sure its 265/35/R18 bad memory lol
  12. And they don't wear out too quickly?
  13. 'how long do i need the piece of string' is a question I don't know how to answer. Obviously I won't be tracking it so i suppose if i could get some specs or product codes or something so that i can compare the different sets that fit it. Are there any other tyres you would suggest not on there? Thanks for your help Si
  14. Ok so before I commit to anything this year i need to make sure my car is tip top mechanical condition. First question is do NA rear disks fit a TT. I have aftermarket wheels with a bigger offset if it makes a difference. If yes then will they be okay if they have been sat for ~6months and have some surface rust but i would prefer to use them as they are slotted. (will the integrity of the disk be compromised are being sat?) Roughly how much will a full set of disks and pads be? Should i get ceramic pads or some upgraded ones? What tyres for strictly road use? And finally I need a pair of front coilovers as one of mine is cracked if anyone has a used pair? Maybe noob questions but I don't want to skimp and buy crap stuff, and I don't want to be buying overly expensive racing parts...
  15. Even if a little bias, I heard someone say that stock for stock, the 370 will comfortably beat it, but if you get into modifications... the zx will outrun it easy :) I'm guessing that getting more boost on the turbos is much easier to get power out of than to play with an NA engine.
  16. I couldn't remember the name of the non Type R version. the EJ9? idk Insurance groups: Corolla gxi - ~20 (but should be able to get classic policy) Prelude the highest at 29 Non-type R 1999 civic ~15 For comparision a fiesta has insurance group 15, and an Audi TT (for the other end of the spectrum) insurance group 35 My guess at costs would be: £2000 £4000 £1500 Though not 100% at all.
  17. I'm thinking either the corolla gxi: (yes i took this picture on the bus) A honda prelude: Or a 99 civic/ek9: (probably not the type r though)
  18. He also just took a picture of his monitor with his phone
  19. Tbh I don't really care what engine is in it, just make sure it's cheap enough to insure and parts dont cost too much.
  20. Lol, I only found out about them by seeing it and saying, wow that looks very JDM, I like it. Noted down the number plate and searched it up on the dvla. I could only see one for sale in the UK so I think it's rarer than I initially thought.
  21. Well I can't really comment on the feeling of driving it, I learnt to drive off road in a 4x4 so I can't really compare anything to it. I'm actually looking to get a corolla gxi for my 'first' actually third car to enjoy driving. Anyone know about them?, they are fairly uncommon but there is one sorn along my bus route and to me it looks like a 90s Subaru/toyota hatchback and I fancy it alot...
  22. We have classic insurance too, that £5k quote is with classic, otherwise it would be more like 8 or something...
  23. Happy birthday Joely :)
  24. I'm sure at least someone will agree with me here but half of the fun in owning a Z is not driving it. It's modifying and enjoying the scene so that's what I'm enjoying doing ATM. Yes the insurance is ~£5k when You're 17 so I'm just going to wait until late 18 to even think about it where the insurance drops to ~£1.5-2k
