  1. Hi guys, I'm using another PC at the mo because my internet has gone down. Anyways, i've attached some photos of the two front wheels. They aren't great condition as you can see, but at least they're not out of shape like my whees on there at the moment! This first one should show you the difference in the alloy front... The one is deeper than the other, both are meant to be fronts. As you can see, one is slightly wider than the other. I'm not able to get a refund on tyres, so i need another front to match the one i have. I wanted to know, as they are the same tyre but one is stratched a little more than the other, would this cause me any problems when driving? I haven't swapped them over as yet but i will need to soon. Thanks for all of your input guys, the wheels (for those who saw my first post) is one of the last things to sort out.
  2. Thanks for all your replies guys. PM sent to Nemesiz and i'll try and upload photos when the damn rain gives up!
  3. Rightly or wrongly I bought a set of alloys and tyres from Ebay for the Z. They were described as, four genuine Nissan alloys in great condition and four tyres are road worthy. I should have returned the wheels i guess when i saw that the tyres were shot...but as i picked them up cheap and the wheels weren't terrible. I kept them and opened up a case on Ebay about the tyres. I bought them because the split rims on mine are beyond the joke now and one tyre actually came off the rim! The new rubber are one the rims now, old tyres disposed of. When i went to pick them up, they pointed out to me that i appears to have two rims that match for the rear but the two front's don't! :( I'm heartbroken, I've literally broke myself with this car and now I'm dealing with liars who have made me shell out for all four corners. In short, i need to match one of the rims on the front...how i go about that i'm not sure. One of them looks like it protrudes a little from the middle, unlike the other which is almost flat. I hope this makes sense, if i can give any more info i can. Thanks!
  4. And there it is! Haha I thought it sounded like a fan. Any tips then would be great ;)
  5. Bit of an odd one inside my Z. When I turn ignition on, if I wait a second or two there's a buzzing noise from inside the cover plate of the map reader lights in the roof. I removed the cover tonight and the noise comes from a foam covered 'whatsit'. Apologies I don't know what that is but it's connected up for some reason. Anyone know what's going on here?
  6. Thanks again to you and the guys who helped me from day one on here. I'll post more photos...when it stops raining!
  7. This just came off my Z. If anyone would like it for rebuilding make me an offer. Thanks
  8. Would anyone have the small covers that hide the screws at the top of the centre console? Mike
  9. We're into the new year and i thought I'd post an update thread, my previous thread, all about issues wasn't what i really wanted to post but I was desperate to get her sorted. I'll get this out there now. The reason i am broke is purely down to the fact I could see what performance this old girl still had, she had been neglected by her previous owner. Infrequent servicing, neglect of general running gear. I have poured every free coin into the car and slowly seeing her true potential. My master cylinder went, days after i had spent a lot of hard earned on changing the exhausts, prop bearing, tension rods...a small list of parts basically. I found that Delphi made decent reproductions of the Z master cylinders for a reduced price. Sadly the parts company I dealt with use a system that obviously needs updating, the one i tried fitting was from a Z31 and completely opposite in terms of fitment. I spent almost three weeks sourcing a replacement and in the end just asked for OEM from the states. After a patient wait for the part it finally came and to my amazement, it was wrong again...this time not so major, the pipe work basically came out of the casting 90degree to one side instead of straight down like the one that was currently fitted. With a small bit of pipe work made up she was ready to roll. Oh and a big thank you to member Groover, who managed to get me the exhausts to replace the bombs that were fitted...she now howls like a banshee...but not too much! Some of you will recognise the workshop With Scorpion exhausts fitted. Treating the car to some paint correction...
  10. Happy new year to you guys! I have replacement gear link bushes in hand but i was looking online to see how to fit them. I ran a search through this site but couldn't see anything. Could someone link to me to a decent guide as to how to do this? Or, if someone was feeling generous, I'd quite happily pay (and make tea) for anyone willing to come and show me how. Mike
  11. ZX-MIKEY posted a topic in For Sale - Parts
[video=youtube_share;5IBBIKaTYJg] Selling the exhausts seen in the video. They have just come off my Z for some smaller pipes. Looking for £100, more if posted. In Gloucestershire area. Mike
  12. Seem to be having a nightmare locating a kit. Gear stick is all over the shop. Want a new kit. Preferably UK based.
  13. Well i got to check out, i can't justify £105 for a little master cylinder! :( I will look somewhere else.
  14. Thanks, I have made an account, i'll probably get it from there to be honest.
  15. I had a look on Ebay today as Mike at MJP is in hospital right now, awaiting release. Appears to be only the one for Z31 model from the UK...i'm trying to get something dispatched asap as i want to sort other items at the same time.
  16. As the title. My car's fitted with a crap chinese copy.
  17. Yeah it was coming down the clutch pedal. Wasn't much but it's there, I need more light to see the carpet properly.
  18. Just putting a wanted poster out for a set of alloys. The ones on my car require restoring. What have you got?
  19. Mine have seen better days and will need replacing. N/A '89 2+2 Thanks
  20. I presume the seals have gone, clutch goes almost to the floor and i can't get it into gear. I can see there is a little oil on the lever inside the car to. So to add to the list already building, this has to be sorted. I've only ever tackled this on a motorbike's brake system and that isn't too tricky. A quick look on Ebay and i saw a couple, should i go for a particular make? I'm starting to lose faith in this car! :( Thanks
  21. Could someone link me to a preferable site to get a gear linkage bush kit? And also is there a thread or something online that could help with installing the new kit? Thanks Mikey
  22. These are a grands worth set of 4 that need restoring. What's cheap?
  23. *Post Power Zed update* Thanks for all the input and the recommendations to go and see Jimmer at Power Zed. No doubt i saw one or two of your cars when i visited :) So the good news is, "You have a good one here mate". My Z, although neglected in the recent past could be brought back to life, the general condition is good. Full health check and a quick re-balance has the old girl ticking over nicely. The centre prop replacement was a decent job but sadly the wheels are causing me much of the chassis vibration felt at speed. The light weight split rims i have on the car have obviously seen better days, so I'm looking for replacements. I require some front torsion bushes, transmission bushes (gear stick is all over the shop) a genuine MAF (current one is a **** Chinese copy). With this sorted i'm getting there....all i need now is a loterry win and some luck! This does mean that i am happy to sell the BMW, so have a look see in the selling section as i will eventually post in there. Thanks again...and if you haven't been to see Jimmer in Avonmouth, just go! :D Mikey
  24. Good to know Jeff. Thanks!
