300ZX vs Supra - a final verdict
One thing missing from this thread is them parked next to each other............ I agree with most the comments on here - although the Supra is a very nice car, the Z is so far prettier and I do like and agree with what Si said about people not really knowing what the Zed is;) The Supra tries too hard on the exterior and is pretty dull on the inside. (Although I do like those seats Mondo!) I do like my mates in the picture though, its styling is very tasteful

Wollaton Park Car Show
Hi Dicky, I think all tickets need to be bought by the end of this month. The entry form is on this link.... http://pwa7c.co.uk/eventsautokarna.php Seen your car at Lee's last year would be good to meet you if you manage to get there :)

Auto or manual transmission
Mines an auto, I hated it at first but that was as a result of some electrical gremlins I had..... A trip down to Lee Dents and its ran nice since. I'm keeping it as an auto for now but if anything happened to my auto box I would most likely switch to manual then.

JDM rear fog
Mine are both wired into the same fog switch, looks much neater like that:thumbup1:

Japfest 2016 - Silverstone - Sunday 24th April - Updated with payment details
Exactly why I won't, tbh... Its others on the track that bother me. If someone else looses it they could take me as well....

I'm potentially up for it.... I wasn't going too but I did enjoy this. Should also be warmer in June!

Japfest 2016 - Silverstone - Sunday 24th April - Updated with payment details
Haha, nope! For me, I've put too much work in to this car to risk the track. Maybe if I had a second track ready one but for this car its more like a future show car for me

Japfest 2016 - Silverstone - Sunday 24th April - Updated with payment details
Whoops... So did I;) I don't think I would take it on track tbh though.... With it being an auto I'd cook my brakes! I may take it on the drag straight at ten of the best.....

Had a great time too... It was good to catch up with some and meet others for the first time. I watched Ash, Graham and Pete's track session which was great to see. Silverstone was a great venue... Very well organised. I really liked how we had the full Z stand with a mix of all old and new.... Just wish it was a bit warmer! I suppose at least the rain kept away though:) - - - Updated - - - Are we having a stand at Japfest Rock?

So why a Zed, people?
Short and sweet... You can't argue with that though;)

So why a Zed, people?
I've always liked these cars since I was a kid. There was a guy that owned one round the corner from me in white, I just loved it! I also have a memory of one setting off from the lights in front of my parents car, it set off with speed and the rear end stepped out... It put a huge smile on my face just watching it. Last year, I was just relaxing with a nice brew in bed... I was flicking through dream cars on auto trader, and the Mrs was looking at dream houses on rightmove. I looked at 300zx's and saw mine... For some reason I had to see this car in the flesh. Like Gary, I hadn't got a clue what to look for in a 300zx but I rang the guy and arranged to see it that day. It was a 3.5 hour drive to get there and when I arrived the guy wasn't in. I rang him and he was on his way back from the petrol station in it... I sat and waited until finally I could here the rumble of the engine as it was approaching. As soon as it appeared from round the corner I knew I was going to buy it. I put a deposit down after test driving it and then went back to pick it up the following day. In the first year of owning it, I have learnt a hell of alot! I would probably make sure I did my research next time as most of you will know my initial problems with it, but every morning when I open the curtains it brings a smile to my face. I can't believe I own this car. Looking back at last year now, I'm kind of glad it had issues... The journey I've been on with it to get it to where it is now has seen all the emotions you can imagine which has made me love it more.

What did you do to your zed today?
Just also noticed... This thread is now on page 300!

What did you do to your zed today?
Tbh, I was shocked too. I've always liked it on other peoples cars and was pretty excited when it came in time for japfest this weekend. I fitted it, which was a pain but I finally got it right, stood back and instantly felt the urge to remove it. In hindsight, I could have probably left it on and had another look this morning but I didn't want it to stick properly and potentially scratch or lift my new paint if I was going to take it off. May change my mind in the future and get another but I don't think it'll be anytime soon. I really like the look of my car at the moment :)

What did you do to your zed today?
Mines a series 1 vinyl strip... I think the perspex was for series 2 spoilers and onwards

What did you do to your zed today?
Received my black strip for under my rear spoiler today... Fitted it and didn't like it so I removed it. It looked so different and I just wasn't sure on it.

Super HICAS
I'll have a look tomorrow as I have a day off "sprucing the car up" ahead of Sunday:)
-
Super HICAS
I'm not sure tbh Gary... is there a switch somewhere to make it come up? Its never been up since I've had the car...
-
Super HICAS
My aerial doesn't work - I may get this repaired at some point just so it works but I don't need it as I updated my radio to DAB so I have an aerial on the windscreen instead. As for HICAS - I wasn't sure when I first got the car as it does feel very different to any other car I've driven but now I do like it. I suppose my confidence has increased with it - its great on the country roads:thumbup1:
