I can see your point of view about flat white, which is why I am going to break it up with black bits. Not to everyone's tastes but IMO looks very stylish.

Who knows, I may experiment with a black spoiler, but Si will probably shout at me
Also think that's looks good, different too. I want mine to look unique but stay classy. Can't really think of anything..

Sounds good, I'm going to do an extreme white with no flake and some black highlights. but yours should look great, see you there!
I will attempt to paint mine after Simply, but there are no guarantees it will come out any good lol.
What about your input bearing?
I don't want my white to look too flat so aiming to have some flakes for offset.
Paints all in the prep.. So I've heard anyway.
And I've been in tough with JeffTT as he did a transmission swap from Auto to manual on my Z for the previous owner and has asked Jimmer for details on my behalf so I can get some more info as its only done 3k miles on the manual gearbox since install.
But for now, a transmission fluid swap with some molyslip to be done :)

After months of searching for a plan.. I've found one..
My car is due for a respray/restoration spray in the next 2 weeks! Going to a Bright Metallic White with black T Bars and the black pinstripe along the lower of the car..
This will definitely be done in time for Simply Japanese! And if everything goes well, i may be able to get to the coventry meet but the body shop needs it for about a month for them to strip, fix&prep, spray then put it back together with some new trims and other little bits.
Excited!

And the Altia quarter shades :-)

So pleased with both Phutumsch and Lees work.

I wasn't there as I have exams and couldn't afford the time away from revising but am going simply Japanese and looking forward to it.
From reading all comments, I feel as though those who were unhappy, bought a club ticket in thought of it being a club event/meet at a big event where the whole club go to japfest as a "team" (for lack of a better word) and then experience the day together, albeit some members do one things whilst others do other things but ultimately you go to meet and make friends.
IMO if you pay for a club ticket and have a stand, there should be some effort from members and organisers a-like to make it worthwhile otherwise you're just parking a few Z's next to each other and then do your own thing, that could be done in the car park and doesn't really feel like your together as a club.
I don't know if there where any organised convoys down or anything of that nature but that would be good to do (saw a few vids online of the Evos convoying down - granted it looked a bit chavy to outsiders, but for the club it probably felt great)
I need to note I haven't actually been to a National event and Simply Jap will be my first so I don't know if I'm talking s*** or not..
Thought I'd give my two-cents

just remember its not just the paint cost its all the other bit and bobs you endup changing at the same time it all adds up so you mite spend 2.5 k on paint like i have. but the time i factor in all the new wing moving the car round trying to get all the bits trims sorted the list goes on and on and on and on lol so it ended up more like 3.5k if not more. just make sure you have that in mind
That is true! I may look into replacing Wack trims and anything that is a bit tarnished while its stripped..

I could recommend a very good place near me. They have done quite a few Z's, including mechanicals such as engine removal. They won't be cheap though and are a long way from home for you.
There are a few forum members to keep in mind too, Allan @ bodymech would be able to help, Keith has recently painted a members car, Lee Dent or Jimmer could be employed to pull and reinstall the engine before and after if needed.
Just sent Allan a message! I may look into shifting work between people but think it'd be better to as few as possible so it all stays in sync. Really need people who are familiar with the Z so will try to find them

It depends where you take it. You could find quotes from 1500 quid to 10000+. Your best bet is to source some local, reliable, reputable companies and get a quote. Be sure to check out the work they do/have done for as long as you can and whichever seems to offer what you want, go for them [emoji106]
Yeah I'll have to put in some looking. Has to be a top job!
Checking if anyone can recommend someone Z special

As above - that's based on stripping the car yourself.
I don't know how much I'd feel comfortable stripping myself. I'd be okay with trims, bumper and panels, door cards, basic stuff but when it comes to mechanicals I'm not sure how Much I trust myself with. I can do SMIC and rad only because I've replaced them other than that..

Looking for a colour change in the near future as mine is a mis-matched white currently so looking to go to a deep space grey.
I'm looking to get a proper job done, drop the engine, trims, the lot so she looks mint.
Anyone got any suggested places?
Anyone who has done something similar got any ballpark figures?
