  1. I mean pics, not pisc :p
  2. Lambo doors on a 300zx http://www.wickedbodies.net/VDC-pics/vertical%20doors-%2090-96%20300zx.jpg I wonder if that would look good, anyone have more pisc of lambo dors fitted on a 300zx? :)
  3. Oh, that sounds interesting! Where could you get those Intellistart systems?
  4. :) I don’t have a Z yet, but when I get mine (waiting to find the perfect one ;)) I'm probably going to install a turbo timer on it if it doesn’t have one installed already. So I may give the clock a try if it seems to fit. But there is always a risk when you start modding the original parts, as there is usually no way back but buying a new original one. Therefore I usually don’t want to brake anything original :)
  5. Mowgs, didn’t mean to insult you in any way :), I just meant in average "redneck-style", as they call it in the US isn't very attractive. But I’m sure you could make it look very good. If you really want to make it looking good(?) you maybe could take apart the clock and the turbo timer and try to fit the turbo timer display into the frame of the clock. I cant really build an image in my head of what this would look like, as I can't remember what the Z clock looks like so I don’t know what the result would be :)
  6. Okay :) Yep, It's probably quite much easier to see from a digital display, especially if you really know all about this technical stuff :) Myself I don’t really know very much, so it’s ok for me if I just see that it works, and somewhat exactly how much pressure there are in the turbos :)
  7. I like your alternative Paul C, and I think it’s always good to give it at least a couple of minutes gentle driving before ending the trip even if you would have a turbo timer. :) Mowgs's idea doesn’t sound that bad either, in case it really fits in there good, something hanging out halfway and fastened with duck tape doesn’t really attract me :D
  8. Btw, where have you guys placed your turbo timer?
  9. http://www.blitz-uk.co.uk/2003/electronics.html It doesn’t look to good, but you can always hide it in the glove compartment :D Talking about the stock boost gauge, how inaccurate is it? Is it just something like 0.5 psi or more like 5 psi?
  10. Okay. Yeah, now when I think about it I cant remember seeing something like that on the Z's I’ve tried so far so I assume you have to buy them separately..
  11. Oh, I see. Are those things shipped with the car, or do you need to buy them separately?
  12. I feel quite dumb not knowing what the 'Turbo timer' is while reading forum posts and tutorials, so I just have the ask. What exactly is the turbo timer? :)
  13. Oh, thank you very much for the link Kimi :)
  14. I’m not really sure about the oil, I think it does just fine with a normal, little more expensive oil. The paraffin heater sounds quite good on paper, but how is the actual usefulness? I have a garage, so it can dry there, and a heater would probably fasten that up quite a bit. But if you think about it, you would maybe have the energy to put it under the car the first couple of weeks, but after that you would start to get to lazy to do it :p
  15. That’s a quite good idea, running the car for a couple of minutes ones a week to keep the parts well smeared. I think I’ll do that. Is it better for the car if you keep it warm by using i.e. a paraffin heater (I understand that its not good to keep it in -20 degrees Celsius for a longer time, but how about +5-10 degrees Celsius, will that be directly bad?).
  16. Yeah, even if you would be a professional driver and have no problems in the winter there is always the chance that someone else hits you. :)
  17. The area where I live is quite flat, but I still don’t want to take the risk to quad mine :) Yep, I was told to empty the fuel tank on my motorbike during the winter when it wasn't in use, so I assume you should do the same with cars. Has someone disconnected the fuel pump on their zx, is it hard to reach?
  18. 300zx TT winter maintenance. I'm planning on not to drive mine during the winter period, as we can have quite a lot of snow here where I live, and they spread salt on the roads, which would cause the car to start rusting. Is there something special you would recommend me to do when I have it standing in a garage for four to six straight months? I assume it would be good for the battery to be re-charged every now and then, but how about the rest of the car?
  19. Thanks Eric :) Yeah, I can’t wait to get my hands on a full powered one. The only problem is that there are very few 300zx's in the area where I live, so there aren’t so much to choose from. If I would live in England, I would probably try to find one through this site, as you guys really seem to know what you’re talking about :) But as I live in Finland, and we drive on the right side of the road it isn’t so clever to get one with the steering wheel on the "wrong side".
  20. As some of you may remember, I’m planning on buying a 300zx TT. Yesterday I where in the shop for the first time to check it out. Its probably the fastest car I’ve ever driven, even though the one I tried out was in safety-boost (or just had compression problems as the boost gauge wouldn’t even pass the +3,5psi line), and it had a something seriously wrong as it had this very uneven shaking coming trough the seat from the back. I tried to find the engine-number, but I couldn’t spot it anywhere. Where should it be located? It wasn’t on that little metal plate inside the hood, which the serial number and some other info stands on. Cheers :)
  21. Thank you for the link. Yep, if thats the same rear light panel as on the zcentre.co.uk they've really done a nice job fitting that togheter! They maybe filled the joins with something like silicone or glassfiber and then repainted the whole car.. Anyway, it looks really nice :)
  22. Than you very much for your help guys, I really apprechiate it. The Z Buyers Guide is going to be very handy. Ill be back next Saturday when I've tried a couple and tell you what I think. :) Monaghanroyal, that bodykit on your picture looks amazing, do you know a dealer who ships those rear bumpers? I'm not really into modding because I like the original design, but if I could get my hands on one of those, i could think about it :)
  23. Okay, so ill go for the non turbo, or the Z32. What do you think about the non turbo, is it worth its price? Atleast here where I live the price difference isnt very big, but buing a pair of new turbos from the impoter here is going to be really expensive.
  24. Thank you very much for your fast reply, this is going to be really helpful for me when I go for a test drive.
  25. Hello everyone, I’m planning on buying a Nissan 300zx with one or two turbos and would really appreciate some help. Where should I start looking for the errors in the motor and the electronics in average? I assume the turbos are one of the biggest risk factors in old cars like these, are there any way to see in what condition they are? And if you have any other tips for me as a new 300zx buyer, please tell me :)
