  1. Well a crap start, disaster has struck :( was going through all the prep work and found that the oil drive shaft wouldn't go in - on closer inspection I realised that that's because it has to be put in before the oil pump DOH! :headvswal SO engine has to come out to fully remove the sump :( so tomorrow will be spent doin just that! NOT the best start to the finishing week :(
  2. Sorry I haven't replied to any emails yet folks if you've sent me one, flat out at the moment. I'm off this week so busy working in the garage. So far I've stripped back the car to work on the engine, the cars back up on ramps so I can get underneath. I've finally found a suitable place to mount the holley fuel pump and off tomorrow morning to Gelscoe Motorsport to have all the piework made up in aeroquip and braided hose. Tuesday I'm off to London at 7am to pick up all the parts I need, the rest of the day will be testing valve clearance in the heads and then ordering the correct push rods. Wednesday I'm connecting all the pipework up and getting the starter hooked up to turn it over for the first time (with the heads off) Thursday I'll get all the heads bolted down in the fresh gaskets, intake plenum in place, carb bolted down and all fuel pipe connected. Test fuel delivery and finish radiator and water pipes. The weekends going to be spent on hopefully starting and tuning the engine! Wish me luck! :D videos and photos to follow!
  3. Great news buddy congratulations
  4. That's brilliant news buddy! :hyper: Great stuff :D
  5. And some info on a chevy alternator connection, looks like I need a feed from position 2 on the key barrel to the alternator to energise it?
  6. Well i'm off shopping for all the remaining bits this saturday to get it started next week :hyper: One job I need to do is hook up the final wiring to the starter motor/alternator. I have one thick wirecoming directly from the (+) of the battery to the engine bay that i assume used to attach to the starter motor on the original engine. NOW with my limited knowledge of engine bay electrics I would imagine that: The thick (+) feed wire goes to the (+) of the starter The (-) of the starter goes to the block and the block the the earth of the battery From the (+) of the starter to the charge of alternator? Do I need a relay inbetween the key barrel and the solonoid on the starter or can i put 12v straight to it? I've found this scribble on google images, does that look accurate?
  7. I've owned both and I still stand by the fact I thought the NA was a better drive of the two, the TT was more like driving a giant rubber band! Pop a lightweight flywheel on there, TT injectors, lightweight underdrive pulley, a decent exhaust and you'll find it'll be a match for any stock TT and with bags more grunt where it matters and more importantly sounds like a TVR tuscan! :)
  8. Very good read :)
  9. I loved it, a few people i've spoken to were expecting some big twist and were disappointed there wasn't explosions and special effects galore but i though it was beautifully written, made my eyes water a couple of times (in a blokey kind of way of course!) and ended in a nicely dignified way. 10 out of 10 from me and i don't really care what little things they didn't explain, it was enough for me :)
  10. Not reading anything today whatsoever. Ended up working till 2am last night so couldn't bear to get out of bed after 2 and a bit hours :( All ready to watch when i get home tonight! :hyper:
  11. If Virgin Cable has it on i'll be sleeping on my parents sofa till monday morning then
  12. Absolutely gorgeous and worth every penny! :D
  13. I know! I heard that too damn them which means the people with sky are going to see it before i even get into work :(
  14. Happy birthday buddy, hope you have a goodun me duck :D
  15. I think those look a bit like train wiper blades!
  16. Also what an epic episode last night, had me laughing out loud at a couple of bits :D
  17. Currently watching all 20 odd episodes at 4 a night to make sure i finish them all before monday night
  18. I'm sort of glad they did leave it till the last episode otherwise some of the mystery would have been lost for us die hard fans :) Can't wait now, 1 hour 15 minutes to go before the end of work...... :hyper:
  19. Really can't wait to see this tonight when i get back! :hyper:
  20. It started well, seemed quite fast paced but after the first 10 episodes it was all over and this massive build up was ruined by a quick finish. For a one season show it was alright but i've seen better. I couldn't get VNC working externally otherwise i'd be logged in on my home machine getting it sorted for later tonight :( Can't wait, i know absolutely nothing about this episode which is good so it's going to be a nice suprise :D
  21. I have to be honest, it's sort of the hollyoaks of sci-fi. Terrible acting, plot holes big enough to drop a car through and plot devices so retarded you wonder how on earth they actually came up with them  ...yet i still watch it every week lol
  22. lol, it's currently sitting on my old silver car (now my dads) so don't think he'd be too happy  Unfortunately the manager of real steel (Charles) wasn't in today and isn't back till Friday morning so it's going to have to wait till then to do a deal with him over the slightly rare parts I have lying around my garage :) Dubble Humper Fuelly heads from a corvette, a stainless crank and a set of headers so hoping they'll be enough of a lure to part ex against the £900 quid's worth of parts i have lined up to buy in but then that means the car SHOULD be ready to turn over for the first time by the end of the first week of june :hyper:
  23. lol, not a massive fan of the bumper and wow that's some colour scheme for the engine bay BUT overall a very nice car and love the spraywork - well done! :D
