It is random, only just started. I'll worry about that later, anyway got it running and tried the latex glove trick and the drivers side inflated but the passenger sucked in. Does this mean the passenger turbo has died then?

It has an intermittent starting problem now also. Just get a buzzing sound sometimes and will turn over but not fire up.

Thanks, its the lack of time and lack of another car that's the problem and not performance cars, the same problems on my old supra or impreza take a fraction of the time to sort. You all might not like this but I regret selling my impreza and getting this, its just getting me down.

No, not always at 0 but will only raise to 0 when accelerating

It is running a bit lumpy. I can't hear the turbos spooling.

I finally got my 300 out for a test drive after sorting the water leaks but I feels slow and have no boost, it hose to 0 on the gauge but no further, what can this be?

Its leaking from the thermostat housing. I thought I was the water pump to start but after a closer look can see its from above the water pump.

Where is the best place to get a water pump? How much am I looking at?

Thanks, I have managed to get one off but the other is completely round, I was looking at those sockets but just need to make sure I get a set with the right size, looks like I need a 13mm going by the one I have got off.

The 6mm Allen bolts that hold the metal pipes are rounded and can't shift them!

Looking closer at these it looks like they have sealant where they join the metal pipes so I think someone has tried to sort this in the past. I'm going to get them off clean it all, replace them and try again.

I'm in Wellingborough. This is my second 300zx, the first one I had about 8 years ago died after getting caught in a flooded road and ended up sucking in water and bending a con rod. I bought for £3000 and sold for a £1000 for spares (someone on here had it I think). This one doesn't owe me so much because its a bit rough round the edges but might end up the same way if its not a cheap fix.

Its hard to see where it is leaking there is orange water stains everywhere

Had it running today and water is gushing out when it got warm, looks like from water pump.

Right I had it running for a bit today, it struggled to start at first and was a bit lumpy but then got a bit better and the oil pressure was ok. I topped the coolant up and when it started to get warm I could here hissing and then saw water pi**ing out everywhere, looked like near water pump. I just hope that when it got so hot that it hasn't caused any other issues.

I'll have a look. I don't always trust block tests, I had an impreza that came back clear but in the end after taking it apart it was the headgasket .

I brought a 300zx tt yesterday but on the way home it overheated and the oil pressure was low and had no power. When it got hot it was making a rattling sound but now its cooled it starts and sounds ok, just running lumpy. I have checked the oil and that looks ok but the coolant is very low. Do you think this sounds like head gasket failure?

Hello, a sad newbie here, I brought a 300zx tt yesterday and didn't even make it the hour drive home, the temperature shot up and oil pressure down and had no power I feel like crying. I think I was stitched up. It was fine until I got to the motorway the gave up! I'm probably going to need to sell for spares or repairs now, I'm gutted. :cry:
