  1. Aha, seems I have fallen into the middle of some club politics already ! Groover - I am guessing you are an electrically minded person , from your write up. I was thinking of popping two 15a sub miniature relays into a standard casing, to allow independent control of each earth, leaving the high beams controlled by the original circuit, and earthing the coil control second one in a similar way to phutumsch's update, but at the back of the L-H Headlamp relay in the fusebox. Could pack it all in to two standard relay cases, linked with a small wire - and it would plug right in! Thanks all !
  2. I may well do, but I am cautious that if anything changes I could end up being an epic timewaster - I would rather wait until the cash is in hand :) With regards to the lights, it looks like it may be possible to build some electronics into a standard relay package and make it a plug in mod - I will knock one up when I get my hands on a Z. I have been reading that the final wipe actually makes the wipers park slightly lower than normal, not sure if there is any truth to that, someone will have to let me know. It looks possible to stop the final wipe, but it may leave the wipers looking out of place. I am playing with circuit simulations of the rear bulb sense stuff now :) Ah that makes sense, I will wait until I have a car to send you the details if that's ok ?
  3. Seeing as I don't start working for a few weeks, that might just give me something to mess about with. The last two on that list seem to plague just about every Nissan. *screeeeeeeeeetch* as the final wipe occurs and its not raining! Holy cow that is utterly beautiful, shame the money is a few weeks away! Hi Gary, I was looking at sending you the details - but (correct me if I am wrong) I need to wait for the thread of Membership numbers to be updated ? If not I will PM you now, and update you when I do get a Z :)
  4. Cheers for the welcome, I like to make myself useful. At the moment, I am still waiting for first payday & some other things to "line up" - so unless someone hopelessly wants an S12 for swaps, a little limited. However, as of about a months time 3k-5k depending on the car :) Regards, Simon Edit: Just subscribed as a proper member, my SXOC renewal was due so I figured new car plans, fee is better of going to this place !
  5. Hi All, My name is Simon, born and stuck firm in Reading, Berks. I currently own a Nissan Silvia S12, which some of you may have seen at Reading Jap Meet (Project Thread). After a year of owning my 12, and a 14a before it I am becoming tired of the driving experience of an overstressed 4 pot and fancy something a bit more mature (and capable). I have just finished my Comp Sci degree, and bagged a decent job hence I am here and on the look out for a Z32 TT, preferably manual, to spend all my new found cash on. I have through scrimp and save owned a Jag XJR (X308), but found it a bit dull in the handling/thrills department - so hopefully a 300zx will be just as capable but more exciting! Outside of cars, I do tech/electronics/urban exploring/music/food etc. I am also more than willing to make new friends & help work on peoples cars where I can for a few beers, so if you have problems (especially electronic/ecu/wiring/ecu socketing etc) let me know! Looking forward to finding the right car, and getting to know everyone! Regards, Simon
