Not worth the paper they are written on on an old car. They don't cover wear and tare just something that breaks that was standard on the car. I have a warrenty on mine and the auto box just went bang. Basicaly to go through warrenty the garage would have to pull the box off, strip it all out and say to the warrenty compant "yes its broken" then the warrenty company will get them to find the part that failed and say "wear and tare" and then i get the bill for countless hours of fault finding etc. Same with turbo's. Plus they generally don't cover labour costs My warrenty was £450, they have replaced a broken water pump free of charge though but that was a week after buying the car
