My journey (should i not want to use public transport) is 7 miles from home to work, this would take arond an hour if traffic is ok and costs: (for 5 days) £50 fuel £125 congestion charge @ £25 per day £125 Parking at westminster hospital (cheepest) @25 per day Thats £300 a week!!!!!!!!!!!, Will stick to 2 tubes and a bus to get to work i think....joy

over the next couple of years that will also include Vans, mini buses, etc etc that fall short of EU emisions, so i guess vans over 5 years old etc

theres also a green zone over the whole of London now meaning any lorry over 12 tonnes pays £200 to go into london

Geniouse mayor Ken Livingstone has decided that the congestion charge is now an emittions tax by the looks of things. After October 27th any car emitting over 225g of Co2 per Km will be charged £25 per day to go into london :headvswal this includes cars like volkswagon passats, honda accords etc etc (and my Z) This will NOT cut congestion but leed to many smaller cars in the city (sales have soared since mr livingstone said they would get no congestion charge as of feb this year, then he changed his mind) Kens quotes regarding the congestion charge... Feb 2003, "i can't concieve of any circumstances in the foreseeable future where we would want to change the charge, although perhaps 10 years down the line it may be necessary" Early Nov 2004 " i have always said that during this term it wil go up to at least £6" End Nov 2004 "i am proposing one large increase this mayoral term" (when discussing the rise to £8 ) May 2006 "if i am re-elected to a third tirm i would increase it again, probably to £10" Yesterday "the new charge will encourage people to switch to cleaner vehicles or public transport" :xxx: :xxx: :xxx: Fact is, a single cash fare on the tube is £4 and a bus £2, London has the most expensive public transport in the world. Bottom line, it will raise 50,000,000 a year let alone the fines for non payment!!

Got man flue :wack: so have taken the day off, being ill sucks.
