  1. firstly id check the drainage pipes are not blocked by removing the targa tops and pour some water down the drainage hole. If that`s ok then try putting some vasaline round the rubber seals its worked for me on mine.

    Mine doesent seem (or didnt seem) to loose any oil but like chris says it dont take a great deal to make it smoke like a *******, But no I kept a close eye on the oil level and it hardly ever needed a top-up and if it did it only needed a small amount (usually after a long journy) And what the hell has july 1st got to do with things stell?? Is it national oil burning day or somethin??

    When mine started smoking(not long after i brought it) I changed the PCV Valves thinking that would cure it, Although it was still smoking I just assumed it was exess oil still burning off and was told to run it for a good few hundred miles untill it cleared, Which it did after about 500 miles and it was fine for a month of so. Then it came back again and now it comes and goes, It`ll be fine for weeks and then all of a sudden it starts doin it again. It sounds like yours is doin exactly what mine is, Well im getting my engine out next week hopfully to change the head gaskets and i will check the turbos while im there and ill let you know if it is the seals!!

    ha ha mine plays this trick on me too!! It`ll be fine for weeks and then it`ll start smokin like a ******* for a bit and then stops again!!! I belive its possibly the turbo oil seals wearing out and without the cat on you loose that little bit of back pressure that helps hold them in place. Did it only start to smoke when you had it de-catted?? DONT LET IT FOOL YOU!! THE SMOKE WILL BE BACK TO GET YA!!

Cheers Osty1 there is a lot more work to be done on it yet it is no way finished yet i just put an MOT on it to get it to the show is it had been so long since i last drove it and i needed my hydrenolyn fix!! And thankyou mr topless for your advise but can you gimee a clue to what egr system is/does?? and can you remind me of the old prvr?? ha ha. Thankyou.

I dont really have a budget as im in no real rush so it will just spend money on it as and when iv got it I will be changing the sensors and will reroute the det sensor loom to make it easyer to get to in the future. Has anyone got any idea on injectors?? Whats the best sort of injectors to use for best performance and what else will i need to do other than a re-map??
  13. Right guys I need some help!!! The Z`s been off the road for 12 months(z32tt) while iv been working on `project remote control lambo doors` Which i have now finished so last weekend i took it to ultimate street car at santapod and it ran perfect no water/oil loss. On the way home on the Sunday it decided to piss all its water out the overflow it was pretty obvious what it was but when i got it back home i managed to confirm it was the god-dam head gasket!! So now i gotta take the engine out to do the job and i want to make sure that when iv put it back in it will NEVER have to come out again!! I will change all the hoses but is there any thin else id may aswell change/upgrade while the engine is out?? cheers guys.

Hiya people can anyone recomend which brakes to go for on my z32?? as you all probably know, the 300zx is an awsome car but the only thing it has problems with is stopping. although the disks are pretty monsterous, it is a heavy car to stop!! Im thinking of getting some 6 pot calipers and even bigger disks so does anyone know which ones to go for or the best place to get them from?? Im off to the nurburgring in march and need to get them sorted by then really. cheers guys. :p
  16. me got a little problem! just ordered me some new p.c.v valves the other day trouble is untill last week id never even heard of a pcv valve cud someone please help me out here! where do they go, how do i get to the little rarse-clarts and whats got to come off. Will someone run me through it step by step please.cheers :headvswal
  17. you alright Nick! sorted the smoking problem yet mate? cus it sounds to me like you`v got the same problem i have, loads an loads of white smoke! iv spoken to jeff at Z- world (01827)259222 and he was certain it sounds like the pcv valve which is a 1 way vacum valve that vents the crank fumes back to the inlet and luckily for you (and me) is pretty dam cheap. check out `maximumautoparts.com` there about a fiver. peace out rude boy!
