Time to Get Sorted!!!
Here's some more! This was the first time I'd started ripping the Zed apart and was amazed at how much had to come off just to replace the poxy rocker cover gaskets. I had an oil leak from the bell of the gearbox. Turned out it was draining from the V of the engine. The same bits come off for sparkplug changes ,I think I did mine at the same time. Wish I'd taken the boost jets off as well, two pistons went a month or two later, the boost was too high and the gauge didn't work properly. I didn't know enough at the time to worry about it. Dave

Time to Get Sorted!!!
Is it the big loom? I remember a mate making a bit of a hash mucking around with replacing his. Had problems getting around where it goes through the firewall. Isnt something aircon related there? The caliper is easy enough, just a few stubborn bolts, squirt brake fluid everywhere, big muscle the mounting bolts and bobs your uncle. The plenum removal is very fiddly but ok as b.m says, getting to some of the bolts is a nightmare. At least you're doing all the jobs at the same timethough. Actually I'm just post whoring, havn't said anything remotely useful for you, still I feel good that I've said my bit! Dave

Evo 6 Calipers
Wow, looks really good. I'm envious, I've spent £750 and still using the second hand discs and pads (bedding in, could be warped!). I saw some evo ones for sale on ebay at the same time for much less as well but didn't know if they would fit. Dave

Bl**dy Pterodactyl!!
Have you got one? The missus took me to a falconary center at an airfield in Dorset last year for my birthday. They do courses there as well and I was going to take the course, as I was thinking about getting one. In the end I got posted to Plymouth though. I'd still like to do it when I finish at the end of this year. Chances are we'd at least have access to lots of space as we've got a horse. I'd like to do falconery on horseback, best I learn to ride! Dave

Bl**dy Pterodactyl!!
Pk didn't stop eating at the Ross meet, he got out of his car when he arrived with crumbs around his mouth, immediately ordered food, kept eating all afternoon and took a doggy bag with him at the end. Even while toying/racing with an M3 on the way back he had a leg of lamb that he was chewing on. He was shaking when I saw him just after because the M3 had made him drop his food!! In fact someone I met later said he was only racing the M3 because he thought they had food in the glove box!!!

FAO Mac and his nuclear power plant engine!
Was just wondering mate, how does tuning the Zed to such a high level compare to other cars such as the Skyline and the likes. I know the excepted wisdom is that the skyline can be tuned easier blah, blah and all that, but what is the reality in your experience. What could you get for the price you've paid out on yours? and how would it compare power/drivability/cost-to-maintain wise. Dave

Bl**dy Pterodactyl!!
There you go some holiday snaps to play with! I was in South Armagh, Northern Island bored off my tits for 6 mths, then went to Bali on post deployment leave and managed to get a huge bomb go off down the road! The place was obliterated, very sad. Don't mean to be on a downer mind, looks like they are getting sorted out there again now. The tourists are coming back again. Dave

Evo 6 Calipers
I'd be interested to know the differences in braking size, strengths, etc. Could be a good upgrade path for others as has been said. Seems strange that an Evo should have brakes as good as a skyline mind? there must be quite a weight difference. What do the Evo guys say about the actual performance of their brakes? I've heard that you get more sqeal on the performance/track day type pads and things anyhow. Dave

Bl**dy Pterodactyl!!
At least when your missus has a go for you being one track minded is isn't the obvious!

Just opened my back door and there was a huge buzzard sitting on the garden table about three foot away. Awesome birds, going to have to get myself a pet shitehawk (def :- any large bird with big sharp beak and claws). Dave
