Red UK TT
It was a stonking deal and I feel like I've robbed poor Keith! Ian - what on earth are you implying?! ;) ah yes I remember you! Thank you for the wave! I'm at the Waverton post office at that time most days...usually park in the church car park but couldn't use it yesterday...it can be a right nasty junction at times there! I think you spotted me in my old black NA a couple of times last year but unfortunately that car is no more :( S.

my build thread
Looking good Tom! Bet you can't wait to get her on the road. I did actually see it being delivered to Lee's a couple of weeks ago and meant to compliment then. Keep the updates coming :) S.

Tailgate perspex strip part number help
Hi, Sorry to dig up and old post but can anyone confirm if 26590-49P00 is still the right code for the perspex strip (without lights), and what exactly is this item called in the Nissan catalogue? My local Nissan branch are saying is showing as a 'stop lamp' and not for my chassis number (they wanted my reg plate). The guy also said to get the strip I'd probably have to buy the entire light unit which is £400 plus which I'm sure is incorrect. Thank you :) S.

Cheers for your kind words all. SpinDoctor....it sounds like the driver of the car in front managed to knock it into 'park' (whether her fault or a true mechanical fault I don't know) and panicked and anchored the breaks. As there was no obvious cause for her to do an emergency stop I progressively braked at first rather than an emergency stop. If I did this at first maybe I could have avoided it as I strongly believe there was a big enough gap in between the two cars but you can't go planting the brakes on full everytime you see a brake light come on else you'd cause chaos. I actually don't think I could have done anything differently. I was in the middle lane and if I swerved I'd have ended up under a lorry or in the outside lane where there was a constant stream of faster traffic. Thankfully it was in a 50 zone and I was doing slightly less that that so could have been worse. The other driver has admitted full fault but her insurers say it's my fault. My insurers say they'll fight my case as best as they can due to 'extenuating circumstances' but I'm not holding out much hope. So that's the story really. Just very unfortunate but I'm satisfied it would have been hard to avoid and I'm not letting it ruin my confidence and enjoyment in driving and I'm just thankful no one was hurt. Cheers again all. And Jaydeescuba thanks for the tip off but it's a Z32 TT I'm after :) S.

Mahoosive thanks to Lee Dent and Ian 300ZX_666
Hi all, I just wanted to take a couple of mins to send a massive and sincere thanks to Lee Dent and Ian (300ZX_666) for helping me out today after I wrote my Zed off on the M6 on Monday :( Unfortunately I think it's safe to say that the car isn't worth repairing but I'm extremely grateful for Lee and Ian's help in getting the car back to Lee's where it can be checked over to see what options I've got with the parts. Thankfully no one was hurt but I feel like I've let everyone down on this forum for being involved in yet another Zed being taken off the road. And Lee put hours and hours of work into the car last year... I'm truly gutted and devastated that I've lost the car but at least I'm still here and I think it won't be too long before I'm back behind the wheel of a 300. So once again HUGE thanks guys :) S.

Help please! Ripped my bonnet latch off :(
Haha thanks all. I'm too strong for my own good ;) I was hoping that there might be some secret extra bonnet release pull hidden deep in the drivers footwell for this kind of thing lol. S.

Help please! Ripped my bonnet latch off :(
Hi all, Thanks to my super-human strength I've managed to rip off my bonnet release lever :( It snapped in half last summer but was still useable but today the other half of the plastic lever pull snapped off :( I'm pretty sure the cable itself is ok, just the handle which is fubared. Is there a way I can work round this and open the bonnet another way? I've no pressing urgency to open the hood but it would be nice to have that facility if I wanted it lol. Thanks! :) S.

Import tax on things from USA
If you're offered a choice of express shipping or regular it's best opting for regular....with Royal Mail/Parcel Force they annoyingly charge a higher processing/admin fee for express items (£12 compared to £8 last time time I paid) and in my experience regular shipping is only a couple of days extra wait. Also once an item gets stopped in customs for fee processing it can sometimes be snaggled up there for a few days regardless of if you'e paid for express shipping or not. The customs fee you pay will be the total of both the item fee and shipping fee, so you'd be paying VAT on £110 plus whatever the couriers handling fee is (differs slightly between them). Also, if you're buying something over the £170 mark (cant remember the exact amount) you pay a customs duty as well as the VAT and handling fee. I think the amount of customs duty depends on what the item is as some categories of item have a lower or higher amount of duty payable. Hope that helps....and if I've given some incorrect info then please do correct....my number one tip for buying Zed parts in the States is get yourself a cheap flight out there and take an empty suitcase ;) S.

Matte black wrap...attempt #1!
Hi, I'd suggest going for an 'air release' type of vinyl first as it's a lot easier to work with than the more old fashioned types of vinyl. And make sure you have an airgun...hairdryers aren't quite hot enough to manipulate the vinyl. And just have patience and practice. To be honest if you're a learner you won't notice too much difference in the different manufacture's vinyls so just go for whatever your taste and finances tell you :) S.

Thanks all :) Yea I did it myself.....a bit of patience is all you need ;) Sorge...yep that was me! Do you live in Waverton?! I'm sure you've 'spotted' me before...you should have come and said hello :) VodkaShots...yes your old Zed....very lovingly repaired by Lee ;) I'm determined to make a concourse car of it yet haha! Lexx...are you the same Lexx as on the 350 forum? S.
