  1. Ah Capri club international. My Dad was a member of that when he had a 3ltr MK1 E. That was a huge club with mahoosive meets everywhere. Bit of a mad suggestion but how about we have a section for other variations...280, 350, 370 etc...All Zed classes. That might increase us a little.
  2. Mate, I asked several members for some info and bits (I'm very new to the brand remember) to get me started on the first quarter and even though I reminded them...nothing! So again, great ideas being thrown about...just no one to follow them through and to keep it going.
  3. ...and that last sentence will be the killer to your set of fantastic ideas...
  4. I have been a member of a few superb owners clubs, Renaultsport.co.uk, VX220.org being examples. And what I liked about those was what we did outside of the forum and how we defended each others car no matter what was done to them because we were happy to own one and liked to show them off. When I first bought my car I joined here, I tried to make an effort with becoming REO (organising events (Cosford, Retro rides etc.), making posters, vinyl) which hardly anyone turned up to, tried to get a club mag together (asked a handful of people for some stuff to go in them) but got nothing in return (apart from Ali who set up an account for articles to go into) and even tried to get a yearly calendar going but had a few members poo poo the idea which put me off. I have then a slight run in with a couple of the specialists on the forum which has really, really put me off coming on here. This forum is great for advice, you are all extremely knowledgeable when it comes to putting one of these things together...but the truth is most cant be arsed. Most will attend One/two events per year, loads of empty promises of attending events put on (I have ten club spaces for Retro Rides Gathering, perfect for the club, guaranteed….but I bet I go on my own again!!) and loads of enthusiasm face to face but when it comes to it most cant be arsed or my car is under cover and locked away. Whether on facebook or here another thing that grinds my gears is the way that members just berate others cars. Mine is no show room piece but gets flack from all corners...I am a member of a few other smaller clubs...JPOC, #Cruise Staffs, JAPLIFE to name but a few and when we meet we all have a great time talking about each others vehicles, and I know this does not appeal to most because people don't do that thing anymore but maybe thats the problem now...too old, too precious and too opinionated! I love the cars, I love the brand and I feel I get on with most members bar a couple...but lately (not counting my house move) I have been so desperate to sell the car because of the owners club. You might wander why so drastic. This is because when we bought he car (we being my gal and I) we had gone through something horrific, decided that life was too short and to get what we wanted...I wanted a TVR, Sam wanted a 300ZX...So we decided on the 300 because we both liked it. Part of owning a car for us was the club life, meeting up, competitions, events, going to race tracks with the club because the brand was racing, having a laugh with people from all over the planet etc. and here lies the problem...there is no more effort in the club...just take a look at the events pages...the midlands one should be brimming because its central, and last year I felt it was....but not now!! I have signed up to so many events this summer and haven't bothered mentioning them because I know what will happen. I went to a 2000 in attendance classic car meet called cars in the park Lichfield) last month and saw some of the most astonishing cars ever, mine was the only 300zx, again I will guarantee it would have been superb for the club; I attended another in Stratford a few weeks back and there must have been 100 cars there totalling a few million at least; also attended a retro drag day at Santapod which would have again been perfect..... I am sure I will wind a few up with this post but I feel as a new member I have tried hard to do something to inject a bit of life into the club...REO, Magazine idea, Calendar, recent trophy making to save money and for something different etc, but now I'm done. I use the site for advise on the car, to sell or buy and thats it. This is one of the biggest 300zx owners clubs around but has one of the weakest communities I have come across. Sorry! Its not the website thats the issue, its the members enthusiasm which is killing it!
  5. If I go it will be a Sunday...may drop the car an inch or so...may better 3rd this time around!!!
  6. Photos sent via messenger Joel. Steve
  7. Not if you want a decal on the inside of the window. Getting a sticker company for this particular one might be a better idea, mine are external only.
  8. Again Si, my car is no show room car and probably not worth a lot with or without cruise. They're easy enough to fit and get hold of. Just glad to be shedding some weight...God knows I cant!
  9. I agree with the cruise control thing too, never used. BOV's, probably just a chav at heart! Sorry...loL
  10. Nothing at all from what I can ascertain. They will be going up for sale either today or tomorrow with pipes and bolts. If you want them ill photograph and give you first refusal. My mechanic said that they are in good unrusted condition as some tend to degrade near the top of the recirc...apparently!
  11. Each to there own Si re: BOV's, don't use the cruise, going for a clean shaved look on the bay, less to go wrong in the future. My car isn't the best example in the world and so decided that I wanted it to look just the way I wanted so out it comes....If the car was super clean i'd keep it looking stock but she isn't. Just adds value to the rest of yours I guess...although to be fair its in far, far better condition than when I first had it, im just glad its on the road and I am enjoying it.
  12. Yesterday and today I had my reverse light fixed, fog light wired correctly, Blitz BOVs fitted and recircs removed and blocked, deleted the cruise control, tucked a few wires, replaced the drivers caliper as I had 2 stuck solid pistons, replaced the white leather binnacle top cover with a black leather one and planned my next moves for tomorrow and Friday....change the targa plastic trim behind the handle for new one, change the two triangular bushes under the steering wheel as mine have lateral play and relocate my PTU under the nose cone. So not a lot really!!!!
  13. I changed the relay behind the drivers footwell box which solved this issue in mine! Have you tried that?
  14. you cant pop back for a few hours LOL? no worries its that time of year i'm afraid.
  15. Cool ill post details closer when I get the club stand info sent to me.
  16. I understand. Cannot guarantee but from what I saw last year it was minimal with some great racing up the hill and some great statics on display.

  21. I am at Rockingham in October if you need me to do any scouting, question asking, pre-photos etc. Just ask...also if you need any graphics, design, decals/vinyl etc, give me a shout!
  22. What time you leaving Hinkley hotel on the Sunday morning...I may meet you all there and convoy to Coventry again like last year?
  23. World cup final - Same day as AGM!!!! For those bothered of course.
  24. I like a couple of the better replicas; Cobra, Mirage Countach but those are so awful. I agree with all responses. Funny what people like and buy, sometimes they seem to collect crap replicas and hoard them together. The worst are some of the countach replicas.
