Well, just got back from viewing the car and 350 miles and a tank of petrol later and I am not happy!! The car ran ok but sounded like it was crunching going into second. The seller gave it all of about 2 miles to warm up before showing me how "sideways" it can go (not something i'd really like to be shown on a test drive, it does nothing for my confidence that the car has not been thrashed!). Bodywork wise it's very tatty, the pictures make it look much better than it is. Front chin spoiler is all split and cracked, nose has bad lacquer peel, where the roof trim has been removed it has taken the paint off, the roof needs a respray, the boot needs a respray, the rear spoiler needs a respray. The interior looked very tatty and looked to have covered a lot more than the stated mileage. Maybe someone else could have done something with it, but it's not for me and needs far too much doing.

Many thanks Andy, you can edit the post now. I think I'm going to take a look at it today, even if it is slightly overpriced, as you say, these don't come up often. If this changes, I will get in touch, but i'm very grateful for your help and this has only strengthened my will to join such a friendly and helpful community.

I was going to have a look today at around 2pm, although I may possibly have to postpone until Monday as it turns out my insurance company isn't open Saturdays!! :sad:

It's actually in Rochdale, so not quite Manchester.

I agree, but he's got it up for £2750 and doesn't seem to want to budge on price.

I'm sorry if my questions have caused trouble between you and the new owner, I only wanted to find out information about the car as it's a 320 mile round trip for me and wouldn't want to waste the petrol on something that turned out to be a dud. The car looks exactly like what I want, but i'm a bit worried as you didn't have it for long and the new owner hasn't had it for long so the car is a bit of an unknown quantity. Also the new owners reaction and threats to you worry me and now I don't know what to do :helpsmilie:

Thanks for the info Ifty, what's the bodywork like for dents and imperfections? Also I read somewhere that it was being broken by Zedworld, did that not happen? I see that you bought it as spares/repair, did you replace the turbos on it? Sorry for all the q's, as I say it's just a long way to go. Many thanks for your help. Dan

Hi guys, I'm actually going to look at this car tomorrow. Ifty, can you shed anymore light one what the potential problems may be? And did the guy who bought it seem like a decent guy? It's a long way for me so don't want a wasted journey if possible. Many thanks in advance, Dan
