  1. Hiya Carl. The pins are the problem mate. I thought i had two for Graham but when I dug them out they were snapped off just above the base. So I will endevour to fix them as the base is the important part. Thanks anyway bud.
  2. I do totally agree with you Nick. The idea is great and reliability is the key. I was just adding to the thread to say that tuning to the limit can only be for off road use unless that person has a death wish. The bloke I got my car from had a tuned skyline R33 I think (I am no expert on models) and it was tuned to 1080 BHP. Or there abouts. It was at the 2005 JAE on show (a Gold one) on he's stand He wheel spun it at 160 MPH and almost lost it and died. TOO MUCH POWER for the road? I wish you luck in your venture. Keep us informed of the progress mate...If you decide to go for it. Anyway...what you doing up so late/early. Vini
  3. May I draw your attention to the following link........ http://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=88407 I am shorery that the EX-Bandit wont mind me sharing some of the limelight for another good find...................
  4. I wouldnt have thought it would go in because of the length and hieght but I stand corrected. Sounded great, but to be honest it didnt look that quick. Macca's video clearly showed the beast to be a fair bit quicker. maybe the bloke/bird hasnt tuned it enough but fair play all the same. IMO if you want to tune a car even more than a 300ZX can be tuned then the only practical use is going to be on the strip. each to their own. :D
  5. I have a feeling only a few know the answer to this puzzle.............. :x: I can confirm it aint because he is little............. :D
  6. Let me know if you have any luck mate. I have some precision tools and will try and drill the base of the pin and insert new pins if I am successful I will let you know and send them up later this week buddy. Vini
  7. Slade Green.......... :D Geeze does that bring back some memories. I wasnt there mate but knew a good few drivers that were and still are. I was at Hither green as a second man, then I went to Waterloo to get my job as a passed man. I dont know how long you have been in the job. Was you old school or one of the newer boys? I sat the 26 week course at Waterloo south sidings and took control from there. Never quite made the salaried Drivers position. I had a row and left in '86. Regrets ever since although I understand the job has gone down hill now? I am now on the Signals on the London Underground. It aint bad but I cant afford a hypercar (Still in tune with the thread) I much prefer the real Railways. :x: The chest is OK Muscular Skeletal problem from a previous accident. Vini.
  8. I used to be a Train Driver Carl. I know where you are coming from too. I hit someone. Suicide case near Tonbridge in 1979-80. Not a lot left of the bloke either. I have also seen some very nasty cases as I guess you would have too? Polehill tunnel near Sevenoaks. Young bird about 18-19. Charing Cross train hit her and there were bits on the buffer as it pulled into the Cross. We were on spare duties and were called out light engine from Hither Green to investigate. and the stories go on and on. But I will bore you no more........ :headvswal Vini
  9. Thats like a carbon copy of that blokes arm. FFS mate I would hate to suffer that. Are you OK now or does it play you up. I have a ruputured bicep tendon in my right arm and that can be very painful if I forget and try to pick something up. Been waiting over 3 years now for compo to be settled.
  10. I went to hospital on Friday night. Very severe chest pain. Glad to say it wasnt my heart...Phew! BUT! there was a bloke in the bed next to mine who had been involved in a high(ISH) speed car crash and he had shoulder injury. The moans he was making and the pain he must have been suffering when the doctors were trying to straighten him out made me think about the effect of a speed crash? Even though he was under morphene he was still (at times) screeming with pain and pleeding for more morphene. I saw he's X ray on the way out and he's arm had dislocated from he's should and it was bloody awful to witness. So theres my reason for taking it easy. What you see on the tele dont come close to when you see it in the flesh (sorry about the pun).
  11. As a railway employee of many years and many courses later I have no doubt that, that film will end up in saftey videos for the use within the railway industry? I think JC and the TG crew used the opportunity and maybe helped finance it? You never know you know.
  12. In which case I should be called BFB. Big fat Bast.......................rd
  13. IMO a Hypercar is a car that will outclass a supercar which in turn is a car that will outclass a sports car which in turn will out class ............. :D
  14. I have raced with 2 M3's just a little spurt off the lights and both times I beat them by a fairly large margin. the 1st was a 51 plate the other was a R reg'd. I think you will beat him. So my money is on you. BTW I dont know the model numbers on BMW's no interest.
  15. SORRY for the quick HiJack. Rodders I love your sig. Nice one mate. Vini
  16. Ah! not the one I was thinking of. Sorry mate I am not sure but there is a section if you do a search for jobs like this.
  17. I think you might be able to tune/chip a skyline more than a 300zx? But I am sure if you look in the faq section mate you will find the answers to your questions. HTH
  18. Mine has 2 reasons really for being used. 1/. My Nan used to call me vinny all the time from childhood (Bless her) 2/. My name is Vincent Bishop (Vinny B') I dont like the spelling vinnyboy so I ended up with viniboy. simple but effective. :D I used to be nicknamed "Bish" and was going to use that but didnt......
  19. Is it the one thats built into the rear plastic panel thats at the top of the boot lid? If so it is attatched to that panel and you have to take that off. It has got some plastic plugs that are inside the boot lid and it has some screws aswell. Be very careful as that plastic panel is very fragile as I found out to my dis-pleasure.
  20. do you think I might have been hacked?
  21. I have done Nick you plonker. :D Thats how I knew they were no longer there.
  22. I have been browsing E Bay for panniers for my bike, Yesterday I saw a pair of Givi's that match my top box and so added them to the "watching" feature. They had 5 days to go. Today I went on and there is no sign of them. I searched all through my History on the tool bar above and nothing. I am now thinking that I might have been dreaming? If an item is removed from E Bay does it remove any evidence that they ever existed?
  23. Same here. Miles to my nearset Shell. But thanks for the warning Paul
  24. Although I am making a lot of changes to my 300zx I think that Nissan did get it right, Like already mentioned it was 17 years ago and if you consider how the car stands out from a crowd STILL they must have got some right. The question I asked was for your opinions not to express my doubts. I see what a few have said about aftermarket prices and quality which explains why a lot of people take the alternative/aftermarket parts route. The great thing about all Japanese sports cars is you can change them and personallise them. Well done Nissan for giving us this wonderful car. :D
  25. When you consider the mods that we do to our cars did Nissan even get close to perfecting the Z32? Most of us start with a standard model and then over the years change almost everything that is changable. ECU's, Brakes, Induction, Turbo's, Exhausts, Wheels, Body parts, Seats the lot. I was just sitting here thinking about it and thought I would ask this: What do you think Nissan used that should not be changed unless it brakes on the 300ZX?
