Possibly looking at a 300zx, but need some info first!... :)
Its all a bit of a personal preferance thing really. I wanted auto from the off and thats what I got. But you might be better off with a manual to be honest if you aint driven an auto before. I find mine is great and as for power delivery there aint a lot in it. Good luck with the hunt. I hope you make the right decision Jim. HTH Vini

If you changed your forum name, what would you change it to?
Nah cant think of anything more suitable than what I already have. But if I had to then possibly "BISH". or maybe "Gadget". both nicknames I have had over the years at work. Years ago when CB radio started up I was Apollo1. and on the MKiii supra site my name is N1554N.

Commuting in a Z
I would love to use my car more often. commuting is not even a consideration I do on average 1200 miles a week and my astravan is less than a year old and covered 45000 miles. I also have an every day use car and its not a lot cheaper to run its a volvo T5 estate. BUT! I want my 300 as an on-going project and I want to keep useage to a minimum. If you can afford to keep another car then do so It will keep your 300 in tip top condition and you dont have the worries of "is it going to start this morning". All IMO. The Nissan 300zx is fast becoming a cheap sports car, loads of them are being used and abused and in a few years I predict the number of zeds on the road is going to diminish and then it will become a classic sort after car. Thats when everyone will want one. We will then be in a better position to demand far better and more realistic prices should any of us decide to sell up. All in all: keep it good and enjoy it for longer mate.

Rear reflectors
I have just fitted new rear lights and there are no reflectors and wondered if anyone knows the legal requirements as to where they have got to be? ie: how high and how near to the outer edge of the car should they be. Thanks

Yes mate. I havent got them wired yet buddy coz I aint had the time. But I have had them lit up and the outer rim should deffo be the brake lights and the middle the side light and indicator. But as for fit? they need a bit of messing about with I had to drill the holes a bit bigger to allow a bit of shuffling about for positioning. all in all a mod im really pleased with. I have still got a complete panel (one piece) aswell but wanted to keep the middle section as I like it. so that will be for sale soon. Sorry about nicking the thread. :x:

new rear lights fitted. you cant really see the finish properly its glitter on black. when the sun hits it it bursts into life. i am very pleased with myself. Its taken the best part of 2 weeks what with waiting for paint to dry ready for the next coat. There is also a nice little touch in the tail gate skin that says "FAIRLADY" in gold glitter.
