  1. Was devastated when it first happened but thanks to the generosity of members on here she'll be good as new in no time and possibly hibernating for the rest of the winter (or until I can replace the front tyres with some decent branded ones). Huge thanks to everyone who has offered parts, if ever I can return the favour I'll be doing exactly that without hesitation!
  2. That'd be awesome mate! Is it off a tt yeah? Could I pick it up some time tomorrow?
  3. Really appreciate that mate, I'll pm you my address
  4. How much would you want for it? That'd be awesome mate
  5. Got the bumper off and looks like it's just the bumper, nose panel, intercooler ducts and slight damage to the passengers headlight (repairable) so I'm quite relieved! Fronts are 225/40/18, rears are 275/35/18
  6. I'm in Bonnyrigg/Dalkeith if you know where that is?
  7. So this happened on my way home a few days ago and is an advert for good brand tyres especially in winter. I seen some blue lights someway behind me on the Edinburgh city bypass during rush hour (thankfully, meant the traffic was moving slowly when this happened). Glanced in my mirror to see where the lights were now and when I looked ahead again, the lexus in front had slammed on his brakes. When I noticed I braked too but thanks to the cheap rubbish front tyres, the ABS activated instantly under slight braking effectively giving me no brakes and I could do nothing but watch my front end hit his towbar. On the plus side there was absolutely no damage to his car so he's not making a claim and now my job for the weekend is to get the front end off and check what's all broken! Long story short - don't be cheap with your front tyres and be extra careful now the weather's getting worse..
  8. Thanks for the help mate, sent you a pm
  9. Can anyone help? Makes me sad seeing her stored away not being used!
  10. Recently the little yellow plastic component inside the door lock broke so I bought a metal replacement and changed it. Unfortunately for me, while I changed it something else broke! It's the rod that connects to the part I just replaced but something at the other end has broken. I'm not entirely sure what's broke or what I need to replace so see the image below and any advice would be massively appreciated! Thanks, Daniel.
  11. Unfortunately I'll have to pull out of this. Moving to Panama for 4 months and I can't justify the £700 return flight for one show! Hopefully I'll make it to one soon though! Sent from my LG-D802 using Tapatalk
  12. I didn't spot you but a mate was passing your house on the way to an interview and sent me a photo. Didn't expect to see another red one so nearby!
  13. definitely is getting warmer, seen an outside air temperature in double figures for the first time since buying the car!
  14. Having never owned a car previous to the Z with anything coming close to a convertible or even a sunroof, I'd been itching to go a drive with the targas off since buying it four months ago. With the BBC predicting a decent bit of sunshine today I chanced it on my journey home and all I'm thinking now is how much I love my car. Never thought taking the targas off would make a normally mundane 12 mile commute that fun, even in traffic! Got a few comments when I was reassembling the roof from passers-by about how nice it looks (as well as the usual mpg questions obviously). No real purpose to this post other than to rant about my love for the Z! (and I apologise for the lack of photos, forgot to charge my camera :( )
  15. My last car had satin black wheels which was half way between matte and gloss, have to say I'm not much a fan of matte paint but satin black can look pretty good on the right car
  16. Will do as soon as I get the chance, a bit swamped with work at uni just now, at least the commute's a lot shorter now I've got the Z back!
  17. Posted in another thread but thought I'd show them off here too, the finished product: Top quality work, thanks Phutumsch!
  18. Technically not today but anyway..fitted my 'new' lights and have to say Phutumsch does an amazing job! See before and after photos:
  19. Thanks for doing this, can't wait to get them back. Been a long week driving a mate's 3-series bmw instead of my Z!
  20. Hopefully I'll be working in Huddersfield over the summer, provided that doesn't fall through I'll be there! Be good to meet people and put faces to the names
  21. sorry I've only just seen this thread, if I'm not too late and a club stand is still going ahead I'd be up for it
  22. just seen this thread, add me to the list!
  23. missed this before I posted, I guess that's what has been done to mine!
