Engine tansplant. Help needed!
Hi I plan to tackle this myself soon do you mind taking plenty of pics for me to have a browse, also I was advised to leave gearbox in car as it's easier to get the engine out without it attached I think all you need to do is undo the bolts on the bell housing but remember to support the gearbox or it will go crashing to the ground when you pull your engine

New PCV valves and pipes!! Bypassed heater matrix
I've been off this week but am working all weekend unfortunately but as it stands all my car now needs is to be used!! I actually have as far as i'm aware a faultless Zed thanks to PCV valves and hoses being replaced and bypassing the heater matrix, I was going to sell it because when it started smoking I was advised it was turbo seals and I only had the car about 5 months at that stage, so I took it off the road. But after talking to different people and trying a few things have realised its fine!! So when I can get re insured which won't be until Feb time next year due to ill weather (as this is a toy not my daily driver) I would be up for meeting up and seeing what you've done your zed??

The end of my Zed?

New PCV valves and pipes!! Bypassed heater matrix
Hi thats useful info, all I could see is 2 pipes with a red and a blue cap on it, I had to twist them and there was no gas? is this right?

New PCV valves and pipes!! Bypassed heater matrix
The AC system does need regas down to the fact it never gets used, if it's hot day the roofs come off, it's my weekend car so it comes out on nice days so i'm doing what alot of people do and removing whats necessary. I am assuming it doesnt need the gas taken out by virtue to the fact that the AC doesnt work, anyway of checking do you know?

Anyone non mechanic pulled their engine before????
Well as it stands my car is fairly stock all mods are getting cleared before they happen I WILL NOT be running high psiwithout as you said the right fuel/air ratio, I am a bit of a worrier when it comes to my car so I wont be slamming on big turbos and 'nailing' it down the road, I love my car too much to break it, sad but true

New PCV valves and pipes!! Bypassed heater matrix
As title describes PCV succesfully fitted very tight in there though but no smoking on idle :) happy days. Also heater matrix is leaking so I have TEMPORARILY bypassed it succesfully, but due to heater pipe kinking when bent, I had to use a metre due to angles of pipes!! made it look neat though, next A/C pump removal!! Anyone every done this??

Anyone non mechanic pulled their engine before????
Oh that thought has passed through my mind as the ole girl is 22 years old, so I spoke to Luke at Zcentre and seeing as my car has only covered about 62000 miles has a massive service history previously owned for 10 years, he said it should be ok, however if it was start pushing serious BHP then I would get the pistons and everything replaced just so there's no nasty surprises

Mods are full SS exhaust and air filter so yeah engine is fairly standard, at the time of doing the turbos of course the injectors would be uprated along with SMIC to get the best out of them, what turbos have you pictures above?? are they on your zed - - - Updated - - - and what would you suggest to be more tame??

Anyone non mechanic pulled their engine before????
Well i bought them used but brand new and paid only £315!! I asked are they garrett and will they fit my car and seller answered yes! but lesson learnt

Anyone non mechanic pulled their engine before????
Well as it stands the turbos on my Zed are fine so I have time on my hands, I am definately gonna pull the engine out but I want to keep it as simple as possible, the turbos I have are gonna make it more dificult and as they are not Garrett (I was told they were) I question their quality and are they gonna blow after a few 1000 miles, so what I think i'm gonna have to do is sell these for what I can and get some genuine tubs from a reliable source

Anyone non mechanic pulled their engine before????
I got them used but brand new off a chap on ebay who did say that they would fit my car, so i'm now weighing up the pro's and cons do I work with them? or do I get rid and get ones to fit

Anyone non mechanic pulled their engine before????
when ypu say 'get the actuators to fit' what does that mean?
-
Anyone non mechanic pulled their engine before????
yeah so I need to get new down pipes to fit, but on the compressor end where you can see impeller on the standard turbs there is like an oval shaped flange with 2 bolt holes which is where i'm told a pipe secures too, but on the turbos I have there is no 2 bolt flange so i cannot secure said hose!! but i'm told using a silicone hose and a hose clip is more than adequate???

how do you add pictures? I'll put pics up of my turbos
