Also, 75* or 80* won't matter, ECU's tend to go into closed loop operation (ie relying on the lambda) at around 50*C or so. 5*C difference here & there is not going to effect the readings you get, the engine is warmed up and the thermostat is open, the ECU has moved out of the cold start procedures and that's what matters, because that's what you are taking readings from, the ECU. See, if I could edit my posts I wouldn't need to post twice...

Remember to lock the timing to 15* BTDC via the active tests menu in NDS otherwise the ECU will be constantly adjusting timing while you're trying to mess with it. With the timing all you are trying to do is ensure the commanded timing matches actual timing. Above when it says 25* BTDC that is just commanded timing, so you need to lock the commanded timing to 15* BTDC and check with a light that the actual timing at the crank is also 15* BTDC. The ECU will constantly adjust timing to maintain a steady idle, more timing = more power and more power = revs rise, so when AC is turned on, etc to keep constant idle it adds timing to provide more power to run the AC without bogging down, when AC is turned off the ECU takes out that extra timing so the revs don't rise and can maintains a stable idle. So the above reading of 25* is meaningless, that is all the ECU has commanded, actual timing could be anything, the only way to check is to lock the timing and check with a light to ensure commanded timing matches actual timing.

Thanks for that mate, but he got offered one earlier today from a lad that works over the road from him for similar money so he has bought that. Really, really sorry bud. Honestly did not mean to waste your time. If I get someone else needing one I'll send them your way for sure. Again, appologies for that mate. Wish I had known last night, but he only got it today. Have it sitting next to me right now.

Oh, the only other reason would be if the stock ECU was not mappable which only leaves you with the choice of PowerFC or better (unless you fancy building a MegaSquirt system), however this is not the case here.

Yes there is far better managment out there, but it depends, does the OP need the likes of a £1000 LinkG4, Vi-Pec, MoTeC, HKS F-Con, GEMS. The PowerFC is old and out dated, the L-Jetro is totally pointless and the D-Jetro is the only one worth looking at if you desperately need or want SD without paying £1000's for an ECU. Not to mention you loose all diagnostic features, limp home mode, etc when you ditch the stock ECU. It all comes down to what the OP needs. No point spending the money on an ECU with LC, ALS, NLTS, etc, etc when it's a road car and all the extra features will never be used. Personally, I love GEMS ECU's & the LinkG4, 2 awesome ECU's and I have worked with MoTeC ECU's on a fully blown Rally-prepped Evo 8 with throttle kicker, etc. However for the OP's application there is no need for all that stuff when NIStune will do the job 100% perfectly fine at a fraction of the price. Even some of the BDC cars run NIStune, so it's not a crap managment system, it just makes the stock ECU mappable via the consult port, and if that's all the OP needs why chuck money at something he will gain no benifit from? I really do not understand why people chuck thousands at a top-end ECU on a car that spends 95% of it's life on the road. If you need the functions, go for it, or if you have money to literally throw away then go for it, or if the car already had a better EMS fitted then keep it, but other than those reasons, on a road car there is no point in spending thousands on a top-spec ECU.

It can be mapped around, but realistically, NIStune is better than the SAFC and can control the fueling amonst other things, so remove the SAFC and sell it then put the money towards other mods. Basically, why have 2 devices (SAFC & NIStune) doing 1 job (controlling fueling) when NIStune can do the fueling, timing, cold start, setup for bigger injectors, different MAF, etc, etc. By "Doolz" do you mean a dual intake with 2 MAFs? If so then simply use a Selin Dual MAF Translator. ;) The Selin is a plug & play unit that converts your 2 MAF signals into a single signal the ECU can understand and works perfectly. http://www.selindesign.net/electronics.html You have got to be having a laugh, NIStune is far better than the SAFC II, it basically makes your stock ECU fully mappable and is 1 less unsightly box in the cabin. It does all the SAFC does and more, so why bin the better product?

Sending as gift leaves me with no protection if the seller were to take my money and not send parts, etc. So I would rather add 3% for the added piece of mind. Sending as a gift gives the buyer no protection because PayPal simply tell you f-off and that you should have sent it as payment for goods, not a gift.

If you can test it that would be awesome mate, and some pictures would be great too. Will tell the lad and either he can pay you direct or he can give me the cash and I can pay you. Do you accept PayPal? I will not send funds as a gift, but I will add 3% to the final cost to cover PayPal fees. Just been stung in the past, so never send payment for anything as a gift and always cover the fees for peace of mind and that way both parties are happy. The guy has not had it long, but it has done a 12 second 1/4 mile on slicks, in the wet and not running right with the previous owner!! Proper little pocket rocket.

£80 + delivery sounds good, can you post pics of the MAF? Like inside it, sticker, NISSAN Logo, etc. Seen too many fakes, so just want to confirm it's genuine. Also, did this come off a working car? How long has it been off for? Pics of the Pulser in question (don't worry, the chicken wire over the turbo will be sorted)....

why can't I edit my post?? Was going to add I'll get pics of it up as soon as I can. We had it just idling and it was deafening, totally stripped out weapon of a car. Should be fun mapping it, lol.

Hey guys, new to these forums, but been around the MLR, SXOC, Driftworks, etc, etc for quite some time. Not a Z owner, actually have an Evo 5 myself, will post in the wanted section, but need some help sourcing a Z32 MAF for a 400 BHP Pulser that I've been asked to remap. Will try to post up some pics of this little weapon once I get some time. Currently running a forged SR20DET Red Top, HKS turbo, larger injectors, custom ceramic coated intake pipework from the turbo to the inlet, etc. Has a HKS F-Con V-Pro Silver ECU which the previous owner decided to rip out the wiring for the IAT sensor & MAP sensors saying they "were not needed"....and this previous owner is supposed to be a mechanic....!! So anyway, we are ditching the HKS F-Con because the stock ECU has a daughterboard for custom mapping already fitted from some other previous owner (possibly when it was in Japan) and we have opted to remap the stock ECU on a Z32 MAF. Will stop rambling on now and try yo get some pics up soon. If anyone knows of any Z32 MAFs with connector and some wiring for the connector ("pig tail") up for sale let me know. Cheers Herman
