Hello new member
Well time passes fast here ! :-P I've been enjoying my Z31 for four years now and have watched the number of roadworthy Z31s plummet. I'm Starting to think about selling her on and was wondering if you had once like mine would how much would you ask? After the post above I had the top end rebuilt. I've had a lot of other work done to bring her up to scratch. I'm in NO HURRY to sell but if somebody made a good offer I would need a bit of notice to extract all the wheelchair related stuff. Spec: 1987 Z31 TT 2+2 N/A Auto New rear brakes 4x new tires Electric windows and mirrors I run with Spoked BBS rims but I still have the original wheels in the shed waiting to go on. Inside it's nice and clean with only a few marks on the P/S rear door-card (Due to where my chair goes in.) Outside there's no marks or dents. but two small rust patches have started to show (below the rear quaterlight.) So.... shall I wait? And what, when the time comes, should I put her up for? Thanks, Rob.

Update: Mine's been in the garage over a month now, only got to drive her twice :( (something snapped in the crank and whacked a valve out.) Good news is, I bought her under a 3 month warranty :)

Z31 Indicator/headlights/Fullbeam stalk Q?
Hello, I'm Rob (New member) I understand that this is mainly a Z32 site, but it seems some of you have or have had a Z31. My problem is: I discovered that the sidelights have been moved to a toggle switch on the dash by a previous owner . This is because the stalk does not put the side-lighs on, just clicks round to headlights. I was willing to live with that until I could get it sorted, but I tried the full-beam, left works, but the right one is out. I checked the fuses and the right light fuse seems to have gone. (this is where it get weird.) I took the RH fuse out and the headlights still work ! I would like to get the stalk working as intended... So, does anyone know where I can get a stalk for an '87 Z31 ?

Hello new member
Thank you all again for your warm welcome! I have it home now, and this is where it starts getting expensive! I've noticed that the side-lights have been move to a switch on the dash, as the stalk just puts the main headlights on. Unless you flick the switch there's no side-lights or rear lights. Also, when full-beam is put on, the left headlight goes out (with the right on) and when you flash, it swaps so the right light goes out (with the left on.) Sounds like some botched electrical DIY. Do any of you know much about the stalks? Would it be a big job to correct this?

OK, easiest thing to do is to share the link (Picasa) https://picasaweb.google.com/117331273143035054715/My1987Nissan300ZXZ31#

Umm.. I see red crosses for the last 3 pictures I posted. Do you all see the photos as intended? Or has something gone wrong?

Hello new member
Just a quick update. I still don't have the car! The garage have had it over a week now saying they ordered the wrong part and they're waiting for one in the post. (Speedo sensor.) Took a few pics while I was there. :-) Sidenote: Anyone play Forza?

Hello new member
Thank you all so much for the warm welcome! Also, thanks to 300ZX_666 for the thread of my own! I should be able to post some photos this week but I don't actually have the car yet, it's been in the shop getting a dead speedo working, so I can't wait to get it home and have a good look at it.

Hello, My name is Rob (43) from Dorset and I have just bought a 300 ZX Z31 (NA) Auto.It has 100k on the clock but you wouldn't think so looking at her. Even though she's an 87, the bodywork and interior is excellent. This is (in a way) my first car ! Let me explain... I am in a wheelchair and until now have had 9 cars under the motability 3 year lease scheme. So this is the first time I have had a "real" car, one that I am passionate about, instead of one that "fits." I'm not complaining. The Motability scheme is a fantastic thing and I have had many years if happy and importantly care-free motoring. I have always been a petrol-head and motorsport enthusiast, but I always yearned to have a sports car of myown. My friend and neighbor (and personal engineer) Kev will be helping me keep me on the road. Most of my friends all thing I'm mad giving up the security of a eco-hatch for a 3 Ltr V6 "in this economy !?!" ... I guess my Fairlady is my mid-life-crisis-mobile. :-) Glad to meet you all, Rob.
