  1. The cheapest legal way is to get am OEM copy. In theory these should only be provided with new PCs, but pretty readily available. £90 or thereabouts
  2. Try a directional aerial: http://www.freeantennas.com/projects/template/index.html I knocked one up in half an hour using metal from a beer can, more than doubled signal strength.
  3. Thanks mate, managed to find one at a back-street alarm place. Now have a fully working Z (well amost)
  4. I run it on an old P2 400Mhz laptop (running windows 98). Its not exactly processor intensive. You need an RS232 port though.
  5. It seems that as soon as I fix something, balance isn't restored until something else breaks. Current problem is the remote central locking. The alarm has its own actuator, which operates on the driver's door. This then triggers the existing central locking for the passenger door. It looks like this actuator is now dead. The alarm was already in the car when I bought it, so I have no idea why they didn't use the existing actuator and since the wiring is already in place, I would rather just replace the dead actuator than molest the factory wiring. Unfortunately I can't find one. It is made by Spal and looks like a Kazoo sized U-Boat. http://www.johnknights77.plus.com/Door.jpg Does anyone know where I can buy one without buying a complete remote locking kit? And advice greatly appreciated cheers JK
  6. Should come from Lloyds, account name John Knights
  7. That was probably me, there can't be that many red Zs in Peterborough
