Laptop screens
No I hate Vista as well, Im using it on another laptop at the moment, and I cant stand it, the Toshiba is XP though, the pavilion is XP and I suppose changing after youve got used to something doesnt help much but I genuinely believe Vistas a great white elephant

Actually tried that but it wouldnt work, Anyways its not too portable then, Ive actually got a Toshiba NP-Q1 with wifi radar installed for ultimate portability but I really like the laptop (HP Pavilion DV6000) so I may sell the toshiba to finance the new screen

Whats a knackered one? the screen?

Laptop screens
it is a different screen, same resolution (WXGA), but I was assured it is compatible and all relevant websites seem to agree, is the backlight seperate? The long white thing across the bottom of the lid housing attached to the screen by 2 wires? or is it an intergral part of the screen?

HELP!!! Does anyone on here know anything about laptop screens, I left my laptop on the floor and the dog sat on it and broke the screen :shock:I bought a second hand 1 off ebay and although it works the pictures very faint, except around the bottom where it seems to be a lot brighter at both ends (about 1 inch wide) and in the middle (about 3 inch wide) a little like the screen is letting in light, is the screen fooked? can the brightness be altered from within windows, I can lighten and darken it using the function buttons but it doesnt go bright enough, any help would be appreciated

Garage floor ideas?
Probably is but the floor thats down sounds quite good anyway so this will just seal, level and protect the floor and a lot cheaper and less labour intensive, have done it a couple of times in the past with no complaints

Garage floor ideas?
If I remember rightly, they do 2 different ones at BnQ, the small one isnt cost effective so go for the arger one, Im sure its BnQs own brand, but most tile shops supply the same sort of thing, incedently, it wouldnt hurt to 'wash' the floor in a mix 50/50 water and PVA first and let it dry

Garage floor ideas?
BnQ do a tile floor leveler which you just mix and pour, on its own its not very good as it would tend to crumble under weight, but if you mix it with 1 part water and 2 parts multipurpose PVA and keep the screed to no more than 5mm (allowing that your floor is flat) you will find this is virtually bulletproof and pretty oil proof as well if your floor isnt flat build up in layers at the low spots by no more than 5mm per pour and let it dry completely between pours. always ensure you mix enough to do the whole floor in 1 go on your final pour
