Emero I was only in labour for 4 hours thank god, and yes it was the hardest job I think I have ever done. Had a couple of problems but everything was fine in the end. Andy you clown:D :D , not in a million, well at least not yet, I am sure there are a few more miles to go on his clock yet before I trade him in for a new model. Mike I will not lie to her if and when I meet her, it hurts like hell, but when you have that baby in your arms you soon realise it was all worth it, and more much more. b19rks yes that is a little big, and believe me it hurts a lot, but he was worth it. zcar I will most definatley NOT be doing it again. Yes I have to come clean, I have a new man in my life and I am in love. He has red hair and blue eyes. He is big and strong. And he melted my heart the minute I met him. His name is Red. He was born on Friday at 5.21am and was 9.lbs 3 ozs. Both Robert and I wish all you Zedders a very happy New Year, and we apologise for it being late, but we were a little busy over that period. Tony sorry to hear about your problems, but glad you have come to your senses and are keeping the car. I was a good girl and only attacked his account once mine was empty:D :D . A simple test (when they are out) is to see if you can press in the part the valve stem has contact with..It should be nice and free..about 1/2 of mine were stuck..not moving. I didnt fancy paying 24x£60 odd squid for mine...So what I did was.. Take them all out..strip them down..BE CAREFUL!! A FEW SMALL PARTS IN EACH ONE! (spring, ball bearing (for 1 way valve) 'o' ring etc). Degrease them. Get some 1500grit wet & dry and clean off any of the baked on oil residue found on the surfaces that slide together. They should be all shiny and lovely. Degrease and clean again, make sure theres no w&d grit left. Assemble 24 reconditioned hydraulic valve lifters! Refit in engine. Start engine. WOW!! Runs like a dream! :cool: Robert.

Dave better yet, I do not use an iron at all, just put clothes in tumble drier, take out at the end and hang up. If they want any ironing done in this house it is a bit of DIY.
