  1. rofl no way man! on paper maybe! my s13 was stock accept for a cat back exhaust. There is no way on earth any FTO I have been in would keep up with it in its standard form bud... on paper the S13 is said to top out at 130mph, I had mine way off the clock (around where the 170mph mark would be) - this was on a runway not public road I know clocks have a margin of error, but lets assume for arguements sake the car was doing 155, I know from experience no standard FTO I have been in would reach that speed. :tt2: Insurance wise I do find it surprising, FTO 2.0 Front wheel drive would be more expensive, and were talking a major difference here not a little, than a 1.8 Turbo Rear wheel drive. You mentioned age too, although they are a similar age, but I have always found that newer cars tend to be cheaper to insure due to there difficulty to steal and improved safety systems (better brakes, esp etc) This is from experience mind you, I dont know what the figures on paper are! :online2long:
  2. Yowser no offence dude but you cant compare an FTO to any Type R I have been in lol My mates Civic Jordan would piss all over the MIVEC lol Like you say good entry into the Jap scene.... although they are insurance group 20.... which is higher than my S13, and bloody ridiculous if you ask me lol
  3. Must admit my mate had a MIVEC, not too shabby for a NA... Although im pretty sure my old clio turbo diesel van would give it a run for its money to 60mph lol Never been in a manual :confused1:
  4. Made me chuckle! I like the look of the FTO but the performance is Gash! lol

  6. Dan @ DB-Power mate. http://www.sxoc.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=430681 He is a really nice guy mate Just about to order 2 of these kits from him for me and a friend. He's in Hemel Hempstead... I dont know where that is or where Wednesfield is so not sure if your close enough to collect! lol Don't know what he does in regards to the 300ZX, may be a case of removing yours and having a measure up! :) Hope this helps mate :)
  7. Why not just get the welding done, and get a poly bush master set from energy suspension? At least that way you know the car, and changing the bushes makes an unbelievable difference to the feel of the car (never poly'd a Z but have done 2 E36 BMs and a S13) Brake pipes aren't the end of the world either bud, full set of complete braided hoses for my S13 - from the BMC to all 4 callipers - £120!!! Again peice of mind as you know the cars condition, unlike if you try to get a better example! My 2p worth :)
  8. lol ok ok I'll put the stockings and suspenders away! :scared: Im heading to the workshop today so I'll take some pics as an update! Thanks for all nice comments guys :)
  9. Hi guys, Im not far from Maidstone! :) Wehey I'm not a 13 loner then!
  10. Scrap that I googled lol I shouldnt be so damn lazy :P
  11. Thanks for that mate! Do you have a contact number? :helpsmilie:
  12. Not a chance bud sorry! lol As much as I respect the VG engine, I prefer my RB and love the way my S13 drives! :tt2: I've owned the car for about 4-5 years now, I drove it around for around a year, and was happy with the original manual CA18DET engine... until it shat itself! :glare: So My original plan was to build the CA up to around 6-700hp, and not do too much to the handling / bodywork... 3-4 years down the line one thing led to another, im seriously anal about my car and have got totally carried away! It had an RB25 installed, pretty stock, just fmic and intake, but I removed this again to paint the engine bay.... After the engine come out, as usual I got totally carried away and stripped it to bare shell to remove every trace (I hope) of rust. To be honest I was pretty impressed with the condition, accept for a couple of small areas! Soo..... The plans now are: 1. Finish removing any traces of rust. 2. Tub front and rear arches. 3. Shotblast and paint all alignment parts and fit new poly bushes. 4. Shotblast subframe and relocate the steering rack further forward. 5. Refit above with new longer track rods and thicker drop links / ARBs. When these are done I will update for anyone thats interested, to be honest I have taken 100s of pics as Im going along, but not giving too much away as people keep stealing ideas! :cursing: You guys no more about my car now than the sxoc! lol Ive got a massive heap of stuff thats going to be fitted, but still a hell of alot to go too! I might post up so teasers as I go though!
  13. Sure thing.... :D I took this... And I done this... Sooooo what do you guys think?! :P haha
  14. Hi all, I am looking to replace 2 bushes on the rear knuckles. The ones I am after are the lower coilover bushes. Anyone know where I can get poly ones? Just need a pair, I have all others! Thanks!
