  1. Thank you for your response, ill certainly have a go at cleaning other bits first before reaching for the debit card!! Im completely clueless on these beasts but have a mate who bought one last year, so he is a hands on wishful mechanic and is proving very useful already!! Would be good to start being introduced to other useful contacts, thank you. Oh yeah, and will sort out some pics very soon!!
  2. Hi all! I said hello to you all sunday evening. Thank you for the warm welcome! Sorry about this thread, and although it may be covered elsewhere i just want to run it by you and see what you all think. I hope you dont mind. I bought my z on friday, she has a high idle problem. She is ticking over at 2000 rpm. I believe it is the idle air control valve because....... we unplugged it today and the revs dropped to around 800 and stopped there and stayed steady. We then plugged it back in and they shot back up to around the 2000 mark. We have taken it off cleaned it put it back on and the problem still remains! Obviously due to the high idle selecting drive in the gearbox results in whiplash! I realise this cant be good for my baby or me, so obviously want to get it sorted as soon as possible! What do you all think? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Also does anyone know the best place to get a new one if we agree this is the cause? Thank you in anticipation for your help! Aileen
  3. Myself and quite possibly Matt-TT are interested in joining in!!
  4. I joined the site before I was an owner, but am very proud to say that I have finally purchased my gorgeous NA auto. I know its an auto, but having dodgy knees left me with no choice!! It has a few niggles but am looking forward to tackling them all in due course. She sits proudly outside my house finished in pearlescent white, and makes me smile from ear to ear. Long may this continue!
