  1. Can anyone tell me where i can get a piston seal kit for my front calipers, the brakes seem to be binding on at slow speed since i fitted new pads and calipers. already tried nissan but they are way to expensive, approx £45 for piston and seal, each!!! thanks aktar
  2. How much did you pay for them please ? £80 pounds for the pads (portfield) from Smithy. Just ordered some DBA 4000 series discs from smithy, he reckons these are the one to go for. cant wait to get them fitted ang get rid of that horrible grinding noise.
  3. Thanks for the advice guys, I was leaning towards getting new discs, i dont think i would skim the discs for safety reasons. Apart from brembo's what other discs are available? i think i read somewhere on here about larger disc conversions, could any point me in the direction for the best people to speak to about this?
  4. Need a little advice, fitted a set of portfield pads on the weekend, when i drove the car i noticed a grinding noise at low speed or when i was slowing down. Had a check and found that my discs were wearing a groove into the pads. now i knew the discs were warped when i fitted the pads but i thought the pads would just take the shape of the disc? Do i need to buy a pair of discs or should i just let them wear in a little more? If i need to purchase discs what would you guys recomend? Thanks Aktar

  6. paul, the flywheel looks realy good, price is also very good mate. did you fit an uprated release fork pivot? the reason i ask is because some on here mention something about the original pivots not being strong enough and breaking, jun seems to sell uprated versions of these RFP ive attached a link below. let me know what you think, or if any one else out there has experiance about this please comment http://www.junauto.co.jp/products/drive-train/fork-pivot/index.html?en

  8. adam thanks for the reply mate just a few more questions. when you say you had to block off the inlet, which pipe do you mean. is it the pipe at the top or bottom of the rad? also did you have any problems filling it up with antifreeze, the reason i ask is because when a flushed and refilled my last car i didnt open the relaese valve and ended up getting air lock and cooking the cylibder head gasckett.   9. i ve got loads of brown and orangy stuff in my radiator and think its about time i got round to flushing it. whats the safest way to flush and refil it so that i dont get air locks. also will i need to flush repeatidly to get rid of all the crap thats inside the radiator. Cheers Aki

  11. i got mine from gps aswell Mac, cant really say i saw much if any difference in performance, what i did notice was that the car didnt idle a smooth as before. mac which type have you got s401 or s35i? Aki
  12. I think ive also got the same problem, my power steering makes a funny whenever i turn at slow speed i.e when parking. Duffman- I tried ringing you last night, is your phone fixed yet? is it difficult to change the part of the power steering your refering to. Cheers Aki

  16. lacks what kind of optima battery is it, i got a price for the orange top optima for £116.32, its got a cold cranking amp of of 700A. is yours a yellow top? when i spoke to the local nissan dealer he told the stamderd battery has a CCA of 582A and during normal running is 65A. Thanks for the replys guys, i was thinking of getting a bosch battery in the first place, but when i phoned euro carparts the said the did'nt do one that fitted the zed i think ill try a few of the places mentioned above. cos, i have finally had the car sorted and will be picking it up this weekend. the reason the fly wheel didi,nt fit correctly was'nt because the guy fitting did a bad job, my car was previously an auto the owner who had it before had it converted to a manual, from what i now understand the guy doing the conversion may have missmatched parts betwween NA 300zx and a TT 300zx. to remady this problem spacer has been used to move the starter further away from the flywheel, and now the car starts :) to any one thinking of converting auto to manual think carefully its not as straight forward as it seems cheers Aki

  19. the strater is hitting the side of the flywheel, the starter defianitley works as ive have tested it. the pinion gear of the starter slides out like it supposed to and spins, so therefore it makes a whirrling noise. the problem is that teeth of the flywheel dont mesh with the pinion gear of the starter.
  20. ive recently had a RPS 6 puck clutch & fidanza flywheel fitted to my car, after having it fitted the car would not start. at first it was assumed ther was a problem with the mounting of the starter motor as the bolt holding it in place had stripped the threads in the hole where it is located. yestarday i helicoiled the hole and fitted the starter tight against the gearbox. the car still wouldnt start. i took the starter of and had a look, after inspecting i am now sure that the starter motor is too close to the flywheel, and is hitting the flywheel instead of meshing with it. has anyone else had this kind of problem when fitting uprated clutch & flywheel? or any suggestions to rectify would be much appriciated cheers aki
