  1. Bummer. That's the only thing I have been thinking about... Terry agreed too the other night. So just in case decided on running silicon and getting rid of the butyl. Defo don't like that at all.
  2. Try these birds: http://www.firstcut.eu/gb/ppclanding4.aspx?ls=PSGFC4_EU&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_content=uk&utm_campaign=cnc-machining&gclid=CMSxmbi7lrsCFdOWtAoddHwAng
  3. Sweet. I'll get some if not but they've been pretty good so far. They're SMD too. I'll keep you posted bud. What do your rears look like?
  4. No problem bud. And update for Lexx..... Obviously you can see the cable when it's off as I've not cut this section carefully enough yet. Will get a shop to do the proper one tomorrow now I'm happy. Phatmusch....... One strip of LEDs are in the bottom. Going double in the top. One strip will be brake... Other will be tail... I'm working on this bit.... I may put the tail on a reduced resistor so it only glows 3/4 or 1/2 brightness if it doesn't work.... but leave the brake on full. I'll have to play bud.
  5. Yes bud. This is for the RED: http://www.ebay.com/itm/181259373907?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 This is for the AMBER: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171172756331?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 The frosted opal perspex came from a company called Arcola on the Trinity Trading Estate. You can Google it, send him an Email and he'll send it to you. It was around £28 for a 700x400 sheet. I walked in and bought it and he advised me in the best light spat without seeing the LEDs which is what I wanted. Really happy with it so far. Thanks for the comments guys.
  6. Maybe a mod can fix the video link? Not working on here. Thanks Terry. Thinking the normal red lense should go back in on top. No perspex... Just leds behind. - - - Updated - - - All down to taste Lexx. ...... 'marmite' bud ;)
  7. http://static.photobucket.com/player.swf?file=http://vid1300.photobucket.com/albums/ag81/oobumblebeeoo/20131203_202002_zps9a53de2a.mp4 This is the video
  8. Lol Cheers guys. Well here is a tester. Doesn't help I'm crap at anything DIY like cutting and measuring up... think I'm going to have to go to some sort of shop to get out cut to fit (the perspex)... It's cone out exactly how I hoped and can't wait until I get it in and the LEDs glued in properly. Anyway.... Here is the tester. I didn't have the indicator on a relay. I held my phone and stimulated it with my other finger on/off the +12v lol.
  9. Well I learnt something then. I'm a pc/telecoms engineer.... It takes me 5 mins to melt plastic. Thought it'd be that easy :hang:
  10. Errrr......... no  Lol. Waiting on some leds now then will carry on.
  11. Dan. Just seen an old pic. 'Dynamics' is on the centre cap.
  12. Loooool you lot f!cking lol Some serious and cool hobbies. Defo good to see. :thumbup1:
  13. They're called Drifz funnily enough lol Not sure on the make though. Think I bought them from big_Jim ages ago. I still have the centre caps but took them off as they looked tacky and went Black wheel nuts. I waited for a set of those for ages to come up on here. And Tel.... I'm more excited than you bud hahaha. Cheers bud.
  14. Bummer. I've asked a friend who works putting vehicles together to see who manufactures his rear light clusters. Can't say too much on here. He's going to let me know Monday. I'll give you the contact details if he comes through. They are a bespoke company and should be able to design them from an original Nissan blueprint on CAD. It's a shame really as my other friend has a CNC plasma cutter. Shame it's not plastic :(
  15. http://www.automotivelightstore.com/services.aspx Send them an email asking them to replicate.
  16. I would of asked them direct. They may be able to jig something up bud.
  17. Hahaha. I'll sort yours Tel if you want me to? This is the material I ordered I'm planning on putting in front of the LED strips. Fingers crossed it won't look tacky and won't see the LEDS. Will update the thread when I get the LEDS
  18. I've found the best use for the redundant parts......
  19. I'll be interested in the price. Maybe a group buy if you pull it off.
  20. Kudos goes to Medallionman for an amazing guide he sent to me without request to my email address. I now hate Butyl/Tar and it's the worst stuff I've ever worked with. Got through it though and got most of it off the car. Here is how far I've gotten so far... The heating for 5 mins didn't work for me. I went for a bake of around 7mins in the oven itself. The lights glided apart like butter. No marks on the lenses and no cracks etc. Well happy. Watch this space on the mod I'll be doing.
  21. I think you should approach these....... http://www.automotivelightstore.com/services.aspx It's in the USA too so may work out cheaper. What do you think? I think it's a stab in the dark.
  22. I just think it looks so tacky seeing the individual leds.
  23. Lol Funkysi.... legend Phatmusch... You're probably right mate with the arse being that long. On standard '99s I'd still be fussy as the centre panel breaks it up. Cheers for the other advice. Been looking at some YouTube vids on how to light it. I think you're right on the ali tape if it's edge lit. I think I'll do a direct smd led strip with red leds for brakes and yellow for the indicators. I want it looking like the newer knightrider series kitt so you can't see the leds and the whole bar is diffused out. This is what I mean but without the scanning effect....
