Yep thats right, unless its a trade car i.e. a courtesy car :D You would get really hammered by the insurance company if they found out when/if a claim situation arrises

insurance on a 4x4 :headvswal
Hello mate, you cant legally insure your dads car anywhere mate as your not the owner/registered keeper, However if your dad is willing to change insurance companies to put you on thats a different story, If thats the case i'd say try elephant or admiral themselves as they tend to take on quite high risks or look at the brokers as they can usually always find someone who'll insurance stuff Any more questions about general insurance just let me know as i work for an insurance company mate :x:

Same as mine, it'll pick them up if they go off but if they are just sitting there watching the cars go by it doesn't.

road angel two
StellaZ and Cadpaul, i have just taken this off the road angel FAQ's on their site: My Road Angel does not display my speed, it just displays 'Searching for satellites' Road Angel has an internal GPS receiver that needs to have a view of the sky in order to obtain the satellite signals required to calculate it’s position. Road Angel needs to be positioned on the dashboard of the vehicle or by using the windscreen bracket in order to do this. For discreet mounting, an antenna can be used. Click here for more information. Some vehicles, for example Renault, Citroen, Peugeot some BMWs and Mercedes have what is known as an Athermic, comfort or UV windscreen. This interferes with the satellite signal being received by Road Angel which results in either no speed being displayed, intermittent or erratic speeds. An antenna will be required, click here for more information. So the problem is his windsrceen, tell him to try putting it on his passenger seat until he finds a signal through his side window then put on the dash ;)

road angel two
Tell him to plug it in    I dont know why he's having the problems, its worked for me fine, I have had it out of the car for a couple of weeks though as its been broke. I might try sending it back to backspot but i dont know. For me it used to sometimes take a while to find a sat' but then when i'd stop at lights or something and pull away again it would locate them.
