  4. well done, im a seasoned runner now but i hate halfs, im more a mud and hill person, they are menatlly challenging and to getunder the 2 hours for your first is great massive well done from me
  5. good luck mate, soak up the atmosphere and enjoy it
  6. yes facebook gave me the platform for my endelss drunken rants, it also introduced me back into running, wil always be drawn back to the forum, was the reason i got a computer to be honest must admit after a not so great xc run, i am canny drunk tonite with my headphones in listen to a bit johhny cash lol
  7. it does take a lot of effort craig but once you start improving you become to enjoy it, my nights are spent training these days rather than perusing forums while getting pissed up lol, ive got my first cross country race of the season (north east harrier league) tomorrow and im sitting here drinking water and going over the course where as a few years ago it would be spent trying to drink as much stella as i can annoying people on here with my endless drunken rants and pointless threads lol get yaself out running, its great and will help ya live longer
  8. i much prefer hills and mud, road racing is too much aggro trying to stick to pace, im a much better of road runner, im beating guys at cross country that would normally leave me for dust on road races, i did a flat fast 5k and got a pb of 20:18 then few months later did another 5k which was very undualting on gravel tracks and did 20:28 im hoping once ive got over my injury (bruised metatarsal bone) im going for a sub 20 5k well done on your son aswell, 6 years old and can complete a 5k and even a great time, keep at it and watch those times drop ive even done my england athletics group leaders course via the sunderland harriers and i have my own group now, i train a few people up and around penshaw hill, getting just as much enjyoment out of that as i do imprving myself, i also take groups out at the harriers, really enjoying it
  9. ive changed my type of running, im doing more trail and fell now than road, had a few set backs with injury but im doing good, current pb's are 10k 43:00 5k 20:18 and half marathon is still 1:44:44 but more importantly at the moment is position, just done a brutal 10k and came 31st out of about 600 done a few races now and came in the top 20 and 300 with a lot of races having over 3-400 people doing it so im doing ok at the moment, just looking forward to xc season now my love for running has changed my life, not so much the annoying pisshead i used to be lol still anoouing just dont drink so much lol, fitter leaner and happier in life, just had charlie do a few junior fun races so hopefully he will get into when he is older aswell hope your doing well?
  10. i dont know as much as i did about the forum, kids and running took over my life lol
  11. good to see some familiar names still posting
  12. haha, happy days all round, ya know where i am if ya need me lol
  13. lol, dont get on much these days so i dont mind, was a mod for a long time and just aswell i dont hold grudges lol :) anyhoos, still got me audi, still love it and still into running and cycling, forum still seems quite active, been thinking about a zed lately but then i prefer the ease of daily use of the cycle and the audi lol hope everyone is well, will have a rake about and have a gander at peoples zeds, see if much has changed since i last looked i assume my gold watch is in the post lol allan
  14. thanks guys, yeah training was going well, went into sunderland 10k injured but didnt realise it was serious, turned out to be a pulled piriformus muscle, knocked me right back in training, just did the sunderland harrier penshaw hill race and was a min slower than training, bit gutted but thats running, the sunderland 10k is tough as its very hilly but was hoping for a dub 43 maybe around 42:30ish but again injuries played a part but still pleased with 43 mins 1 second lol hope ya get back into it mate, hard trying to juggle life around training, im gonna beast the bike sessions this week, see if the less impact will help the injry
  15. hows it going, hoping training is going well, ive just done a 10k pb of 43 mins but got injured, think im gonna stick to trail runs, i do a lot better in them, juts got back on the bike after a long time off over the winter, i trained all last winter and was doing good but struggled this time hope the training is going well mate
