  1. Oh if I could I would, but on an NHS bursary, I get less about £5k a year to live on, I just wouldn't qualify
  2. Cheers, my mechanic is coming lunchtime, if its bad news, you'll hear me wailing form your house lol
  3. Feel sick thinking about what its gonna cost to fix the fecker!!
  4. cheers me too! Will update tomorrow, fingers crossed :yes:
  5. Love this, I drive up this bank most weeks, its just down the road in Saltburn - much fun in the winter!!
  6. What my 2-seater that we couldn't all fit in, could't afford to run and insure? Yup, it was a fab car
  7. :scared: Ohhhh gutted! I just need a reliable car for the next 3 yrs til I graduate then I can play sports cars again....
  8. I know, just sick of cars this year, one problem after another. My sister has just got herself a yukky Kia Picanto with its 7 yr warranty and the £30 a year tax. Hateful thing but I'm actually feeling envious of her tonight.....
  9. God dammit! Was only yesterday that I happened to say how flippin great my Omega was and it runs like a dream when bugger me it went and broke down today! ARGH! Been training all day, nipped to B & Q on the way home to get some paint before collecting Tash from school, noticed the car was idling oddly and seemed lumpy. Thought it was because I'd let the fuel light come on, so popped to petrol station and put some gas in. Still a bit lumpy but seemed to be improving so took it on a faster road, gave it some beans and it seemed to splutter a bit then was ok. Got paint, went to drive home, car wouldn't start, then it started but kept cutting out soon as I revved it. Thought perhaps a spark plug had come loose so checked and lo, the sparks were all soaked with oil again  Its only been about 8 weeks since I had the rocker cover gasket replaced, but my mechanic did say at the time, it might not actually be the only issue. Sooo, having put £20 fuel in the car, spent £20 on paint, I then had to pay £30 to get the sodding car towed home and now my mechanic is coming tomorrow to diagnose and cost the job. *insert swear words here* - NOT what I need when I've just started placement (nights, I'm shattered!), 3 weeks before Christmas. If its massively expensive I'll have to break the car and try to get some money together for yet another bloody car......or failing that, one of these :scooter: Bah bloody humbug!
  10. Seen the trailer, thought I might catch it on iPlayer - its the puppet thing, right?
  11. Ha ha nice one Rose! Congratulations!
  12. I just removed the aircon fuse....
  13. Mine was frozen shut this morning! Snow clearing is definitely more pleasant (until your other half puts a handful down your top :mad2: )
  14. See when its like this, its magical and pretty and great fun taking kids to the park to sledge. When its brown, and re-frozen and you need a pick axe to break it up, its a ****....
  15. Lol, I got the Omega sideways today, that was a first!
  16. Thanks, well this was my previous sig lol
  17. It weren't me!!! I don't live in Wales any more! Wish I did but no chance for at least 3 yrs....
  18. I very nearly bought a 4 x 4 after last winter's snowfall. Bear in mind I am very much a southerner, I'd never seen a white Christmas til I moved up North! But I'd hate the 4 x 4 for most of the year, so ended up with just any car that wasn't completely sh@gged basically (the Omega)
  19. My major issue is my steep driveway, if we get big snow again this year, its deciding if its worth the risk of parking on the road, and getting hit by the wallies who can't drive in the snow, or risk parking on the drive, where there's every chance the car won't make it off the drive. I am planning on a reconnaissance mission to stockpile some council salt and grit soon tho
  20. I used to live in Magor/Undy - nothing like the smell of the Severn Estuary AND cow poo in the morning to wake you up!!
  21. Ha, yours are better! I don't hate snow, I just hate it when I absolutely have to be somewhere and the journey is a nightmare. Luckily for me last year, work was walking distance from home, and my first placement is on the same hospital site where I previously worked, so when the white stuff arrives this year, I'll still be able to get to work. And as I'll be working with kids with severe learning and physical disabilities, chances are I'll be able to get out and play in it with them in the sensory garden
  22. None in Teesside which suits me fine. I've spent a small fortune on winter outdoor gear for Natasha, got a new sledge, if this wards the snow off this year, I'll be pleased, as I had enough last year to last me til 2015 - over a foot fell this time last year as these pics show! All very pretty til you have to be somewhere and your rear wheel drive car won't budge off your steep drive....
  23. I got this lots in my MR2, no-one ever gave me any grief in Zedward, possibly just because its lary colour and the fact most other road users wouldn't recognise the car? but I never had any bother in it. Now I drive a boring Omega, I don't get noticed at all, which suits me fine!
  24. Yum, I love that - I used to have the New Covent Garden Soup Company recipe book (lost that in the divorce lol), some great recipes in there
