Yup, found a cut wire - so that explains the red "lights" thing lighting up every time I brake. That doesn't explain the headlights not working tho - replacing all the fuses now, see if that works but it looks rather like the wires in the whole sodding car have been cut/crimped and generaly botched. This is EXACTLY the problem - can you recall which fuse? Boyfriend has changed a couple - man, its frustrating! Will have another go tomorrow as I'm on half day Cheers

There is power there, got 1 to work briefly yesterday - really strange. Feel sure its because I was messing on with the indictor stalk/full beams stalk when they just stopped working....

Checked all the fuses in the car now - will replace all the bulbs in the car asap, but they all look fine and its weird that they were working and now they aren't - and the lights are all standard equipment as far as I can tell, hoping any other owners at this Sunday's meet up might be able to advise tho!

I had been playing with the indicator stalk - the lights had been fine before then - haven't had any luck waggling them back to life so far tho!

Gorgeous Lude! I looked long and hard for a manual one of these, never did get one - then got the MR2 and now the Zed. I am 37 (nnooooooooooo!) and have a Celica Gt as well as my 1992 JSpec V6 slicky SWB Zed.... My daily driver is shanks pony or the bus tho, its faster than driving to work and none of the worry of leaving my previous car in the large hospital car park for the local scum bags to mutilate....

Its NEVER taken me an hour to get from the smog to the Toon! 45 mins each way I reckon. :thumbup1:

Thats weird because the rear and brake lights are all working. Will investigate this tomorrow and at the weekend - def don't want to bodge anything - have no need to be out after dark this week til Sat and have access to another car if needs be thankfully Cheers J

Side lights work, full beams work, dipped headlights do not. Bugger! changed fuses, bulbs are clearly not blown - my boyfriend has looked at the wiring and has found some electricians tape on some wires relating to the lights, so suspect some sort of botched repair by previous owner. Can I just check, when you depress the brake pedal, is it normal for a red light on the dash saying "lights" to come on? Or is this part of the above issue possibly? Hoping someone at the meet up on Sunday will have a bit more knowledge of a Z than us will be able to point us in the right direction. In the meantime, no night time driving for me!!

Thats appalling. Is there any way you can chase the "management" agents in relation to this - after all, if they vetted them and you paid a management fee, surely they play some part in this? Its why you paid them in the first place presumably, to vet potential tenants and ensure the rent was paid? My good friend is going through this at the moment - rented her house to family members believe it or not, so didn't take a deposit - they're in massive arrears, have trashed the place and even though she's paid to take them to court, because the court clerk advised her to fill in the incorrect forms, the judge threw it out on a technicality. Shameful My dad lives in Pompey (Southsea) and the house next door to his has been rented out - he's had the noise abatement officer out week in week out and has load of problems with them. People like this give good tenants (like me!) a bad name. Really hope you catch the w@nkers and they get their come uppance J
