Hi all, Wanting to know the differences Between a UK series 1 TT manual shell And a JDM TT auto series 2. Seatbelts on doors , glass colour I already Get just wondering if there are any other Major differences in the actual shells themselves Thanks all.

clutch question.
Could I make a pipe up to go from the master to the slave out of standard copper brake pipe??? Is this worth a try ?

Cheers bigh seems to be the way forward Everything seems right plenty of fluid . Can't Understand why it drops off while it's running With no leaks

Hi all as per my previous threads my cars been off the road For several years for an engine swap. This is now done and Runs ok. The clutch and box were fine. Although in the last Few months it's been sat the clutch pedal now goes straight To the floor with no resistance. I've changed the master Cylinder for a brand new genuine item and a new slave also. It's bleed up alright as per manual on both nipped. It feels Like a good clutch but start it up and it's back to square one Straight down to the floor and can't select any gears. Can't see Any obvious leaks and everything is tight. Can't find or hear and air leaks Whilst clutch is being depressed with the engine running or not. I've repeated the process about 6 times can't get any more air Out. Any ideas welcome Cheers

Alan It might be fair to say were are all virtual friends with a common interest but at the end of the day were are all real people with real feelings and I really do feel for you, and I'm sure I speak for every person that's a member on here. It also speaks volumes that you would share sure a dilemma on here, I hope in my heart of hearts that your alright and I understand your comments about your father I was 16 when the same thing happened to me. Hi All I'm after the following parts for my 1990 uk tt manual: Starter motor Pass side front wing Radiator expansion tank head light washer jet pass side scuttle panel exhaust gaskets (all of them ) or pointers in the right direct of who can supply them side repeaters , orange or otherwise thanks in advance rich PS also need a radiator , preferably something better than standard but anything considered

No spark , not coil pack or plug , any ideas ???
Well Medallion Man 10 points several beers and a big thumbs up from me :thumbup1: Double checked all the wiring connectors and low and behold the ptu wiring loom connectors metal retaining clip had come apart and the connector separated Hence the weak sparks and lack of spark on the pass side bank , Now it sparks stronger than ever before. And runs like a dream Thanks again Rich

Hi its a series one but is running a series 2 ptu cos the first one went wrong , has anyone ever heard of a series 2 ptu failing, seems strange that everything worked fine before the engine swap and now nothing???

Hi, Yes I took the coil pack off and the plug out, put the plug back in to the pack and put it to an earth and turned it over, got sparks (only weak) on the drivers side bank, got a really good spark on the front passenger side front cylinder , but nothing on middle cylinder. Guess Id need a decent multi metre with continuity testing function???

Hi all, Having swapped an engine in my uk tt manual, It is missing on the passenger side middle cylinder, There's no hint of a spark at all, I've swapped the coil pack & plug for one that's known to be working but still no joy! So I am assuming that it is down to the wiring etc on the car as appose to the replacement engine. Any ideas please as I'm definitely more mechanically minded that electrically. Thanks guys

thanks all I went back through it cleaned everything up and happy days it fired up. But its not running on all pots, the rad leaks like a sieve, and there must be a huge leak on a vac pipe somewhere cos its sucking air in somewhere like a turbo would and no boost as yet. The engine I bought has pipes blanked off here and there , guessing its aiv deletes etc but need to work out what on the car side I need to blank off / remove or worst case re attach???

Morning all, My long suffering zed has been sat for 5 years after it overheated and cooked a head, in that time I had stripped down the existing engine to locate problem, once I realised how bad it was I sourced a 2nd hand engine off the forum, that's now in and hopefully ready to go. But it wont even turn over, Its got a decent battery on it, I've checked all the fuses, I can hear the fuel pump priming itself , It just wont turn over, The engine is free and rotates ok, The only issue I can think of would be the fact the clocks, dash etc are out of it because the matrix has been changed, would this cause an issue with wiring etc????? thinking of trying a live to starter is this wise? Help and advice please Thanks Rich
