Hi, I am having idle problems whenever I go to slow down and stop the car. The car keeps trying to cut out and sometimes does. Its ok when first started but soon starts to play up . Has anyone got any idea on what the prob can be and how to sort it out...? Cheers Jay

I have a 91 import zx and it has TWEED SEATS!! anyway I would love to replace them at somepoint with leather but I don't have the money at the moment. I was just wondering what i could do to reapair the seat for the time being. Its a blue grey tweed seat and the rip is where they normally go on the right hand side of the drivers bolster. Everytime I get in and out of the car foam from the seat just flakes of onto the floor and its really annoying and looks rubbish, so what can i do? cheers people - can you tell me about this?
not done much as not long got my first Z. I have put a Japspeed free flow cat back system with decats, fitted a Exedy clutch kit NSK2174, front and rear dimpled grooved brake discs and pads and fitted dump valves. Not to sure of where to go next from that, thats why i have been thinking of maybe a chip/remapp, was going to get a front mounted intercooler at somepoint. what would you suggest?- can you tell me about this?
Hi, really interested in increasing the power of my 91 jap import manual tt but not really to sure how to do it... was thinking of an chipped ecu but don't have a clue about them or even fitting one . I've seen this on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Nissan-300ZX-TwinTurbo-400-BHP-Performance-Chip-Tuning-/230534164836?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item35ace83164 but not to sure about it. Does anybody know anything about these things who could help? cheers Jay- Snapped Downpipe Bolts
I managed to drill out the snapped studs on my downpipes with what ever drill bits i had in the garage i did take a few hours and a lot of bits but persistance paid off. I jacked the car up put the axle stands under plugged in the old electric drill got the junior hacksaw layed under the car with no room to move. Hacksawed the studs flush, pin punched a centre hole then drilled a whole all the way through with a 4mm drill bit. (You may want to wear some saftey glasses as you do get a lot of hot shardes of metel fall down). Then went up in sizes to the size of the new nut and bolt. One thing that happend to me which I stress to try not to do is brake a drill bit whil'st drilling the thread out!! As it is a absolute nightmare to then drill out the broken bit!! so be carefull. Its a big relief when you drill them out and fit the new bolts! My neck was really stiff the next day but was well worth it.- broken pas pump
hi, I recently replaced the pas pump on my 91 import 300zx tt as the old one was making some strange noises. But what i want to know is what do I do with the old one.... Can it be repaired and be of any use to anyone? or should I just get it gone and weigh it in? jay- Advice on clutch replacement in the Kent area?

Hi all, having spent a while replacing the slave cylinder and assoc pipework on my 91 300zxtt I have found that I still have a sliping clutch and am in definite need of a new clutch. Being relatively new to my car I am not confident in undertaking a clutch change. I wondered if anyone can reccommend a garage or individual somewhere in the Kent area who could undertake this kind of work for an affordable price? I am in Ramsgate, Kent but could drive the car carefully a reasonable distance if required, especially if it could be done in a day? If anybody can offer some advice I would be very grateful. Cheers Jay- fitting a slave cylinder...??
cheers guy's thats awesome!! i'll give that ago myself soon as pos and let you know how i get on. out of interest can anyone tell me any symptoms of a slave cylinder on its way out? mine has defonately gone as there is no clutch peddle and it has dumped all the fluid on the floor! but before that the clutch started slipping in 3rd, then a little while later it started slipping in 2nd an then soon after thats when the clutch peddle went and it dumped all the fluid out, could this be all because of the slave cylinder was on its way out or could the clutch be going...? cheers for all the help guys, jay- fitting a slave cylinder...??
PLEASE HELP! i need to change the slave cylinder on my import 300zx tt. I have just bought one off Andy Isherwood (thanks mate) as mine is now broken but i have know idea how to fit a new one... i have read about 3 bleed nipples and stuff and it sounds very complicated. can anyone maybe give me a step by step on how to fit a new one? i need as much help as pos i don't even know were it is to start with! :surrender: Any info would be gratefully recieved Thanks Jay- More 300zx clutch problems!!
thanks for the advice. Looks like I may need to replace both clutch and slave cylinder then! As it dumped all the fluid when it lost the clutch im thinking I might as well change that first just in case the clutch still has some life in it. I cannot seem to find a supplier for the slave cylinder in the UK though. Can anybody point me in the right direction? Cheers Jay- More 300zx clutch problems!!
Hi all, I have a dead clutch on my 91 300zxtt and im hoping someone can offer some advice before I start buying new clutch parts? Problems started when the clutch started slipping on boost in 3rd gear. This very quickly turned into 2nd gear as well and I realised I may well need a new clutch. It only gave me another day or so before it went completely giving me no clutch at all. Up until this point no fluid had dropped in the clutch reservoir so I had no reason to suspect it was anything other than a worn clutch. Upon parking it up I found a large patch of fluid under it. Assuming the slave cylinder has now leaked is this a likely result of the clutch going or is it more likely the cause for all the clutch problems? If so where is the slave cylinder located as im still getting to grips with owning one of these and as yet have no manual. Hope someone can help? Cheers Jay- Dump valves for ZX TT?
yes mate i would be interested, what are they and what would you want for them? cheers- Dump valves for ZX TT?
Hi all, Having taken my 300 ZX TT for a frst run today I am very impressed by the performance. However as this is my first turbo'd car I crave a BOV valve to make some additional noise. I assume with 2 turbo's I can run a pair of BOV's but I do not know a lot about fitting them. Can anybody advise what I should be looking for? I am hoping someone offers a complete fitting kit to make life easier although some pointers on where to fit them would also help! Cheers Jay- Another new TT owner!!
Hi all, Having lusted after a 300zx for a long time I have finally got one whic i picked up at the weekend. It is the combination I was after in that it is a manual 300zx twin turbo lwb. It was an ebay purchase and had been off the road for a bit but bar a few niggles it seems to be good. I need a PAS pump for it and I am looking to change the rotten pipes for a decat set with new boxes. Then it needs a spray on the bonnet and hopefully some nicer wheels in the near future. It certainly lives up to my expectation and I am really looking forward to using it. Jason - rip in drivers tweed seat... how do I fix it?
