there is a test if your up to it , could remove the thermostat, put in boiling hot water in saucepan ask wife for permission ,, or it blooming hurts !!!! watch it as water is warming up to see if the spring releases to open it , if it dont after long period of time , would deffo say its buggered , would of thought the car would of overheated by now though , best advice id give is ring a mechanic would give you best way round to find prob
