Yeah I'm pretty sure I've seen that around, looks really nice. Might take you up on that offer. What is conzult exactly, a diagnostic machine? I've had a little read up on safety boost mode and sticking wastegates (which is what was originally diagnosed) and it looks like it could be either! Thanks mate :thumbup1:

The boost gauge from the negative to 0 psi when the turbos should be coming in. I wasn't aware that there was such a thing as a safety boost mode, is there an easy way to tell?

Most probably, my mum used to work at the Jet petrol station at the top of Treluswell, it was always parked right by the road. Is caribzx's 300 black with polished wheels?

Thanks peeps :thumbup: Fixing the turbo is defiantely first on the agenda. I loved the power delivery when they were working, but you could tell it was holding back. I think I've seen your car around, are you ever in the Falmouth area? Just thought I'd show my Dubs as well. My Corrado. Not sure what's going to happen to this now. Needs a new fuel pump and was hit recently in the rear quarter, but it cost me so little and it's so fun I'm probably going to keep it. My Mk2 track car. This was actually my first car which I've had for 8 years now, started as a 1.3 banger and is now a pretty competant track car. Not got huge power, 120bhp, but it's light and handles really well, seen off much bigger cars on track, most notably a few Scoobies and a R33 GTS around Castle Combe. It's off the road now for a major overhaul, got a new engine and gearbox for it, plus it's going to be caged, lightened some more, and new brakes and suspension. Should be an animal when done.

Aftermarket ECUs
Thanks for the advice, exactly what I was looking for :thumbup1: I'll give the ECU a miss then I think. Will the auto box be able to handle 14psi? It had a full rebuild a few years ago and since then has it's oil check and replaced regulary.

Aftermarket ECUs
I'm looking for some advice being a newbie to the world of 300zx's. I want to get a bit more power from my car so am looking at raising the boost, fitting a decent exhaust and decat, and some decent airfilters. My question is, is it worth going for a whole new ECU from the likes of MINES? I've been offered the choice of a few different ECUs, a MINES VX ROM, Tomei, Jun and Racing Garage. Apparently they are all design to be run with stock injectors and intercoolers, uprated exhausts and air filters. Has anyone had any experience with any of these? With the ECU, exhaust and air filters, would that be all I need to get it to a "stage 1", if there is such a thing?

Hello, I've recently purchased a 300zx TT auto a few weeks ago, although it's been in the family for nearly 10 years being owned by my mum previously. It's completely standard except for a set of 17" Mazdaspeed 3 split rims, it even still has the Japanese speed limiter (my dad wanted to keep it on so that my mum didn't do any silly speeds in it.) This is the only photo I have of it at the moment which is a crappy old phone pick. After so many years as a daily driver it is now in need of some tlc. There are a few areas of rust coming through and a few carpark battle scars, and the turbo's have stopped working. I've managed to source a new turbo already and have a few ideas for the body, having spent years being into VWs (and still am with a Corrado and Mk2 Golf track car) I want to bring a few of the Dub influences into the Nissan. I also want to get some decent suspension on it and a bit more power.
