  1. Am i right in thinking the number of short flash's is the error number?
  2. Bugger, i meant the Power steering solenoid, not the Hicas Solenoid.
  3. Thanks snowy. I've already checked the fluid level and it was okay. I've finally got the Hicas to go into the Diagnostics and its throwing up a Code #4, Hicas Solenoid fault. Am i right in thinking this is under the car, actually mounted to the steering rack? Its not too clear from the online manual. Cheers, Mark
  4. Just tried getting the car into the diagnostic mode again but still wouldn't work. One thing i did notice was that the Hicas light only comes on when I turn the Steering wheel to the left almost to full lock. It doesn't come on if i turn the wheel to the right. Mark
  5. Hi guys, yet more on the old Hicas Light. I've checked the fluid level (ok), I've checked the fluid level switch (ok), and the light stays on. I've been reading back through old threads about steering angle sensors, but this only seemed to effect cars with aftermarket steering wheels. I've also tried putting the car into the Hicas Diagnostic but after about 20 attempts gave up. Please Help!! FYI the car is a J-spec manual, with the original steering wheel. The light comes on as soon as i turn the steering wheel to get out of my parking space. Mark
  6. Red Zed, sorry to hijack but my light is on as well. There is plenty of fluid in the resevoir, and the steering is fine. Checked mine out using Datascan and got the all clear of code 55. Is it possible for the warning light to come on if the resevoir is overfilled? Mark
  7. If you look down inside the filler pipe there is a little plate welded in the top of the pipe. If you put the nozzle of the pump in normally it rests up against this plate and the back pressure this casuses is what trips the pump out. By turning the nozzle at an angle you miss this plate, it goes further into the filler and doesn't trip the pump every 5 seconds. Mark BTW if you want to see the plate please don't use a lighter or match to do it (Ha, Ha!)
  8. Livingstones Warman do agreed value. They have been the cheapest for me for the last few years. I was amazed to find no other insurance co could beat their last renewal. http://www.warmanandco.co.uk/ Mark
  9. As above, Sorry its a bit late. Cheers, Mark
  10. I had the 2fast 2cool de-cats fitted to my car by Martin at the Zen Garage (Top Bloke). It cost about £400 but that did include a boost leak check, set of new plugs, oil and filter and genral check up as well. One thing to note was that my old cats were the only things doing any silencing and with these fitted it made my ears bleed. I had to get a pair of small silencers welded in. Mark
  11. Was in the park for a friends Picnic. Had the roof off on the way there, it was Fo*kin bakin
  12. It was me. Finally I've been spotted.... As said above, deffo the best colour (ahem)
  13. I'm gonna have to watch the film agian aren't I........ Cheers for the feedback. Mark
  14. Cheers bud. That makes sense
  15. Hi folks, I've got a question about the sounds that dump valves (BOV's) make. In the fast and the furious film the dump valves don't make the usual wooshing sound. To me it sounds more like a rattle. Is this a particular type of BOV i.e. HKS SSQV or Dual piston type? Cheers, Mark
  16. Cheers bud, I'll give them a go..
  17. Just got my renewal through from Livingstones Warman (01935 706258) at £540 £250excess. Jap Import Modified Am 32 Years old Living in Watford Maintenance Engineer Car kept on street Carole Nash - best they could quote wa £640 Adrian Flux - Wouldn't get near it so didn't bother quoting Liverpool Victoria - Don't insure modified cars (correct me if I'm wrong) Anyone else out there to consider?
  18. Thanks for the feedback, fellas. Mark
  19. Okay, okay I get the message!!! LOL. I was only concerned 'cos of the heat generated in the Z's engine bay. I thought it might get hot enough to melt the solder
  20. Hi fellas, I recently bought replacement Injector connectors from MJP to replace the split/cracked/non-existant ones on the car. My question is: has anyone done this before and did you crimp or solder the wires? Cheers, Mark
  21. I've got them on my car. As far as i know the O2 (Lambda) sensors should screw straight in. Mark
  22. Had the megan racing de-cats fitted in November. I haven't noticed any smoke. I have recently had a pair of silencers cut into the de-cats as the exhaust was too loud. Last Saturday i upped the boost to 14PSI. Fingers crossed....
  23. FMIC is Front Mounted Intercooler. If Your TT is standard then it probably has side mount Intercoolers. Whens the meet?
  24. Really like that bumper.......but has anyone noticed that you'll either need to have an N/A or a FMIC (no vents for the side mount IC's). Not a major issue i know but something else to consider. Mark
  25. Cheers ZNUT, They've already got a nice taper on them. Looks like I'll be getting some more power after I've replaced my Clutch booster tomorow. Mark
