  1. hey theres nothing wrong with microwaving cd's, they look cool when the light up :p
  2. right then, wtf!?
  3. oh right, upon reading the post again, you say you waited for 2 hours, and after that wait it started first try. If that is the case then i can almost guarantee you its the PTU on its way out. PTU is the power transistor unit which aplifies the signal to the coilpacks, its bolted to the front of the engine on the left hand side, its the aluminium thing with cooling fins on it. They are somewhat prone to this kind of failure.
  4. depends if your talking about the MAF or the temp sensor? MAF is right up front under the nose panel between the lights. Water sensor is on the water pipe on the front of the engine. I'm assuming its the water sensor for now so 1. Failsafe mechanism, you will find you can disconnect most of the sensors and the engine will still run, just like a sack of crap, if you disconnect the temp sensor it makes it think the engine is cold and runs on 'choke'. 2. As above 3. No
  5. ah right, boost controller, in that case the solenoids will be disconnected and you wont have safety boost, it will still retard your ignition though.
  6. pfft, unreliable manual boxes ;)
  7. a lot of boost gauges arent that accurate, best way of telling if you are in safety is plugging in a conzult or datascan and seeing is the boost solenoids are energized or not.
  8. is it an import? If it is then are you running on regular unleaded? If so then put optimax in it instead.
  9. you could still be in safety boost with a code 55, if you are getting detonation that will put you in safety with no error code. Also, if you have a dud water temp sensor which is always reporting cold then that will keep you in safety with no error code, not to mention running a stupid rich mixture.
  10. fair enough, and yes the blueflame and mongoose exhausts are the same.
  11. yeah i've seen his, not sure on it though, wanna see more :p
  12. nice, like the seats, but aren't all those lights a bit bright at night? also, im curious what the window sticker is that you've blanked out for us :p edit - nice tailpipes too, blueflame?
  13. True, where I live the pikeys drive round every now and again checking out peoples cars, i live on a cul-de-sac but there are often houses for sale so that gives them sufficient cover, but you can clearly see them driving up and down the road really slow checking out the cars on peoples drives. They came round the other day with their scrap truck while i was working on the zed, i shut the garage door fookin sharp dont want those thieves laying their eyes on it.
  14. i'm unsure whether to go for plain smooth tailgate or tailgate skin. Will deffo be staying with stock lights though, and with the tailgate skin not following the line of the lights im unsure. So any pics and/or opinions would be appreciated. Thanks
  15. hmmm, pink :nono:
  16. yep the converter is faulty.
  17. christ rob thats terrible, gutted for you I know how much work you have put into that car I can't believe anybody would do something like that. I hope it gets sorted easily on the insurance mate.
  18. i wouldnt bother with that mate, all the spoilers end up the same way.
  19. the spoiler is knackered once the paint has started peeling, no point in respraying it will come off again soon. the zcentre sell fibreglass replica's of the stock spoiler, they are much better, lighter and wont degrade like the origonal. The origonal is a son of a bitch to remove as I found out, I certainly won't be putting another one of those monstrocities on though :D
  20. the turbo? I highly doubt that. In fact the 2.2NA would probably be a damn sight thirstier than that too, especially if it is driven how it was designed to be :p
  21. why would you wanna use the least practical of the bunch as a daily driver? The veyron would be my choice if i was stupid rich. Fact is though that buying a veyron would clean out your average lottery win, no way you'd catch me spending all the money on just 1 car.
  22. 400 is do-able on stock tubs but 17psi is stupid, 15 tops on stock tubs imo.
  23. wanna be careful with those mate, quite likely you will ground a zed going over them.
  24. I'd kinda like it back, makes it easy to spot newbies and trouble makers.
  25. maybe an ex zed owner? most people are pretty ignorant to what zeds are even being a jap owner themselves.
