Finaly Changing exhaust...
Another update.... One bolt snapped, elbow still in place :( This is getting from bad to worse...
-
Finaly Changing exhaust...
I've managed to take the exhaust off from where the elbows end, but the exhaust I am putting on has decat pipes which dont line up with the stock elbows. I have the downpipes that join the decats properly, its just a matter of getting the stock elbow off and replacing it with the downpipes...

Finaly Changing exhaust...
I am trying to remove the elbows. Its the top two bolts on the elbows that I'm having trouble getting to. Good to hear that it will be worth the effort :D

Finaly Changing exhaust...
I've finaly got around to swapping my stock exhaust for the Fujitsubo Giken one I had lying around. I knew the stock one was on its way out, but only now have I realised the extent of it. One side had rusted all the way through so that the backbox wasnt even joined to anything.. :| Anyway I'm fitting downpipes in the process, and am having a bit of trouble getting to the two bolts on the top of the stock turbo elbows.. any advice on how to get at these would be appreciated. I could imagine that on an auto it is easier as you could reach down from the top of the engine bay, but on the manual the clutch cylinder is in the way... Secondly the new exhaust system is decat, and so there is nowhere to fit the cat sensor (temp sensor I think). I've done some searches on here and read that they are not necessary, but would like to be 100% sure before removing them.

Day 1, Auto-manual conversion :-D
We had a similar problem with clearance. It turned out the when the weight of the gearbox is not on the engine the back portion of the engine rises up slightly making the angle wrong for fitting the box. We slighly raised the front of the engine, and this provided the angle and the clearance we needed to position the box. Hope that helps a bit

gearbox coversion question
I have recently converted from automatic to manual on my TT. The ECU for the car remains the same. I am wondering whether there will be any problems in removing the automatic box's ecu, the one that sits to the left of the main ECU? Will it casue any problems? Will there be any benefits? Is there any point at all lol? Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Just want to say a BIG thank you to Terry
Yup, if I ever had to change my Zed for another, it would be for a manual everytime without a doubt :D It seems like the autbox blowing up was a good thing after all... Z32KING: Yh I have HIDs, whereabouts was this? I am mainly around the London area Blue!! :P

Just want to say a BIG thank you to Terry
Thanks mate. All I can say is that if you are planning to do it just do it lol, you wont look back, the car feels so much more alive now. Just make sure you have all the parts before hand... I was missing one flywheel bolt and that meant almost a weeks delay...

Just want to say a BIG thank you to Terry
We finished the manual conversion yesterday, and I have to say it has completely transformed the car. Terry has been a tremendous help, and spent lots of time coming down every day to get on with the work. Many missing parts later and its finaly finished :D Thank you Terry It was definately worth the wait, and now shes back on the road, just in time for winter lol...

Chipped ECU?
Thanks for the replies everyone! so just to sum up, the car is not running a stock map at the moment
-
Chipped ECU?
8ACE: The car is a 92 import, so I assume it should have a series 1 ECU? were they socketed as well? The outside of the ECU case has a big number 23 on it..
-
Chipped ECU?
how much would a known one set me back? No the car doesnt boost fully at the moment but I do have a Blitz SBC Id that I plan on fitting, but want to be sure the ECU is up to the job. As for that link, I cant actualy open it, any chance you could just show the picture?
-
Chipped ECU?
I intend to turn the boost up a bit on my car, but I am not sure whether the ECU is chipped or not... the car has no stock boost solenoids, so I assume that one of the previous owners removed them and ran it using an EBC. Ive opened it up and taken some pics. Any help would be appreciated

Any body know this car?...
I happened to go and see this car today, cant say its in the best of condition. Looks like its seen a few accidents :s the doors dont line up very nicely.... and the boot lid seems a bit to short if that makes sense? It doesnt quite line up with the back lights.. and the prices its listed for at the garage is £2995 not 1500 hope that helps a bit
