yeah its pretty gutting im gonna be without a car for a while, how much for a clutch kit ? and how much to get one fitted ??

hey everyone about half an hour ago on my way home from my gf's my clutch had gone, as i came down the road it made a funny noise like a noisy pulley ? then it felt like the car was driving weird like pulling on its own, as i pulled over put my hazards on the clutch stayed where it was and i struggled to get it out of gear. i called my dad who was a mecanic for 20 years to help luckily i was only down the road, and he managed to get it back on the drive. im so gutted my clutch has gone, i know its gonna cost houndreds my dads gonna look at it tomorrow for me. feels liek something always goes wrong for me :(

my na manual guzzles fuel ???
hey there ive been driving my na 1990 zx for about a month now and i love it although i cant believe how much fuel its using ? Ive had 2 other v6 engined vehicles before that wasnt as bad as this one, ive had a 194 bhp 3.0 v6 laguna and a 205 bhp 3.2 v6 frontera which i was gettin about 25 mpg . IN the 300zx i put 20 quid fuel in took me from the red to just over a quarter and its got me 91 km ?? which is pretty crap, does my car need a service or are they juust reli bad on fuel ?? and i dont drive it fast most the time im below 3000 rpm ?? thanks dave

this may be a bit random or pointless but i was wondering if there is a way on jap import cars to find out when it was first registered in japan. my zx is a h reg 1990 and 1st reg was in 2004 in the uk.

hey everyone just a quick question, the oil pressure gauge is always showing different figures, sometimes its on around 4 and sometimes itl be almost 0 ?? i was driving it late last night and it was on almost 0 for the whole time i drove it for around 25 mins ? also at low revs it makes a bit of a whinning noise sounds like the gearbox ? wen u accelorate or raise the revs the noise goes away, so example if im at 30 mph in 4th gear and then increase the speed itl make a whine ?? i hope it isnt something drastic, i was wondering if itl need a service and maybe new gearbox oil as its been standing for 2 years ? thanks everyone

thaks hollings for ur kind comment, i went there for my exhaust as it had a hole in it before i got it moted so they put brand new cat back system on the car, as it was blowing before. And thanks mate urs looks lovely in ur pics we shud meet up sometime n see each others cars properly ?

thanks again for the replies ur all very helpful and friendly, it seems that the front bumper isnt very popular amongst some of u lol, i like it as it makes it look different but i wud get a more standard example for my next zx. I have been using the zx as a daily car as i cant afford 2 cars cuz i dnt have that much money and insurance is 150 quid a month on this with my dad on there aswell, i dont really like parking the zx on car parks or on its own for a long period of time im worryed about it getting vandalised or something like that :(. And im sure zx's aint too good on the road wen the winters here with the ice and snow we get ? lol, will be good for drifting on a empty car park though lol. I will add some more pics soon, i am thinking of keeping this car a long time, maybe wen i can afford it get a second car and use the zx for best ? i wud love to do a mini meet with some local zx owners very soon ?

thanks for the comments everybody nice to have a walm welcome, i forgot to mention since ive had the car the drivers door lock doesnt work from the outside ? i always have to open the passenger door with the key and open the drivers door from the inside ? is this a easy fix ? many thanks

cheers mate, wen i bought the car it already had this bodykit on, not sure howlong its been on the car, itwas imported in 2004 so proberly sometime after that, i think when i get another zx in the future i want a standard looking one.

hey everyone, just wanted to start a nother thread on my zx as my old one was over a year ago and it wasnt on the road back then. Well its now finally on the road, after 2 years on the drive being started every few weeks or so, i bought the car off my dad and got it moted and taxed and now having lots of fun just pottering around in it. I love how it drives being nice and low to the ground and corners superbly ive never drove anything like it, as you allknow the 300zx is a brilliant car to drive, im very happy lol. Mine is a non turbo 1990 h reg manual, i wudlike a twin turbo in the future but im only 20 non turbo is more than enough power for me lol. I think for its age its ahead of its time, seeing any other h reg cars around they look ancient compared the 300zx's, and i really do feel like im driving a classic supercar driving the zx, love having people shout nice car and turning heads where ever it goes as im sure all of you have experienced too, its great. Ive been driving it almost 2 weeks now, and on my previous thread im mentioned it crunches gear on the high revs, well it hasnt done it since i think i wasnt used to the car or clutch and its been fine since, ive gone from a 3.2 v6 vauxhall frontera to the zx so its a huge difference being really high up in a 4x4 to a low sports car lol. hey everyone again, well ive been driving the zed for a few days now and ive found a few annoying things about it, as the car is a manual it changes gear fine but if i give it abit of stick it crunches into gear it does this in 3rd and fourth, i dnt mean trash it but if i bring it to say 5000 rpm and change gear quickly itl crunch which is quite embaressing and annoying, also it does nice in general but if say im in 2nd gear basically rolling along at 10-15 mph ish the car feels abit juddery ? just wondered if anyone can help me here, i am aware that the trust bearing may need changing as wen the car is in nuteral and wen i presh the clutch down it changes sound a little bit ? thanks in advance dave - my 1990 300zx n/a
