  1. Top banana. Thanks Jeff. I'll give you a bell and get those along with hopefully some other bits i've managed to break in the last hour!
  2. I have a knackered rear suspension bush on my 1990 TT LWB. It's where the bottom of the shock connects to the rear axel housing Credit goes to Jeff for the diagram which I have hijacked from another thread :ninja: Number '4' is pointing to the part that contains the bush Does anyone a. know what it's called b. know where I can get a couple?
  3. Doh, obvioulsy '1' is shown in the bottom pic!
  4. Not off a Z hence why I thought I'd post here. It's off a 92 peugeot 205 1.8 diesel. Done some research online and the consensus seems to be that the best way to test a coolant sensor is to measure the resistance with a multimeter. Video of soime chap doing it here: From what I can make out, I should be testing the resistance across the two pins on the back of the sensor. When I took the sensor out the car and did this I got no result, zip. Aha I thought it's bust! Bought a new one but that does the same  After poking around a bit I found I can get a measurement if I touch one of the pins and the brass casing. Does this sound right or are both my sensors bust? When my multimeter leads are not in contact with anything they show the same as the top pic e.g. '1' Pics of what I am doing here:
  5. anyone know the answer to this? I need the same info :)
  6. hmmn I 'only' have around 370 ft/lbs so I think a rebuilt oem would do the job. I just thought a brand new Tremec for 600 baz was quite attractive if it wasnt too much of a ball ache to adapt. Was hoping someone might say I could just gut the old box, throw the tremec bits in and top up with expanding foam. Never that ez tho is it :)
  7. gb is starting to suffer the ol knackered 4th sychro. these gearboxs seem to be fairly reasonable on fleabay and i hear they are strong. Any ideas on what would need to be done to wedge one in a zed?
  8. If I open the bonnet, stand 3 feet back and open up with a can of wd40 am i likely to sort this out? If by slim chance the repair mist doesn't work, where do i find this coil pack ye speak of? yes i have had a few beers :)
  9. When we had the mosoon the z started misfiring quiet bad, no smoke but no power. Felt like a cylinder had stopped werkin. Drove for a few miles and it started werkin again. drove for 20 miles a few days later, filled up and same thing, 2 miles later it sorted itself out. always seems to clear up after a few miles and rarley happens at all. feel it's getting a bit more frequent tho. any ideas?
  10. If there is water in the oil but possibly due to loose oil cap and alot of rain with the bonet up. would this give a false positive on a sniffer test. Don't know wether i can just get it tested without having to flush all the oil out?
  11. A meet you say, could do I spose since my beard trimmers bust atm :D What goes on at these meets? Is it donutting around tesco carpark followed by in depth discussions on the optimal recoil force on the door handles? I'm up past penair school, if you know much about powersteering or own an oil refinery then I think we should hook up :) ...I've recently got my Z back on the road due to my cherokee being so ridiculously uneconomical (10mpg). I've got some pwr steering issues tho. My friends could only look on in wonder when I re mot'd the Z for something economical to drive!
  12. whos got the sig with the motorcyclist going over the handlebars into the back of the truck? Just wanna show me mate...sorry for blatent misuse of the help and advice forum :o
  13. thats the one :) finally, an excuse to buy baby oil :D
  14. i dont want to lose anyone with my technical gab, but it's the lumpy top bits of the engine i'm talking about :)
  15. I've polished the engine up a few times now and usually use Gunk engine lacquer to inhibit tarnishing. Stays good for about 4-5 months before i have to sand off the lacquer, repolish and relacquer. Thing is the lacquer makes it go from mirrored finish to matt, stills looks good but was wondering if there's anything better i could use to keep it looking spangley?
  16. Dont forget to let the handbrake off before you start, you prob thought of that but I didnt! :o
  17. While I don't seem to be setting the world alight with this thread...just got camskill to list these on their webby but 30mins ago: BRIDGESTONE S02 POTENZA BRIDGESTONE S 02 - 255/40R17 94Z (KZ N3) TL Guy said they would be £130 each inc vat, that was the cheapest I'd found anywhere. They have actuly gone on at £119 inc vat each! Considering he told me they only make £4 per tyre, I think someones cocked up! :) Just throught any tyres hunters on here may like to know. Bought mine for £243 inc vat and delivery. You can all go back to ignoring me now
  18. I gotta order these today, last call for any advice on wether to go with NS3 or NS4 SO2's phoned Mytyres for some advice and they didn't seem to know what i was talking about :/
  19. In answer to my own question and for those who may follow there is a website site which sheds a bit of light here: http://www.tyres-pneus-online.co.uk/reading-tyre-markings-advice.html doesnt shed much light on what ABZ or the s02A is tho. These are the two in my shortlst: 255/40 R17 ZR BSW, BZ, N4 255/40 R17 ZR KZ, N3 So should I go for the latest N4 spec or the N3 which is also approved by Nissan?
  20. I thought buying some s02's would be easy but there appear to be a shed load of variations. what should I be buying here? some sites don't list all the detail, so where do i go? camskill don't seem to have any s02's in 255/40/17
  21. Aha! thats the breakthrough in logic I needed :D thanks bud I'll equip my smug face and go have a word ;)
  22. i havent got a doubt about it being E certified. the link i put up on the paj forums is what the MOT garage should go by, and it says the E has to followed by by 75R my tyres have R106 but he may be like 'ok the E numbers fine but by the letter of the law it doesnt say R75 after that E' so i guess it all hinges on wtf R106 is all about?
  23. i know but i'd have to he full money again rather than a free retest and it grates a bit when i think they are ok :/
  24. I have 300zx but this is about my pajero. If you know about E markings on tyres, could you check this thread out and tell me if an E9 R106 tyre is road legal? http://www.pocuk.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=98654 I'm at me wits end with what is legal and not, I've phoned the cops, VOSA and the supplier and still can't get any proof to show my MOT guy :(
