Cusco 2way LSD
Yeah well, I can't see if it's a 2way or 1way whatever, someone just told me it was a 1way probably converted to 2way looking at these pics. I don't know much about lsd's :p ;

Cusco 2way LSD
I bought a complete twin suspension form someone who didn't need it anymore. There was a diff equiped with it that was rather harsh in use, and the owner wasn't interrested in it. So I opened it and it appeared to be a cusco 2way diff, now I'm wondering if this would be a good upgrade over the std visco diff. Car will be used for hard driving, but must still be usable for some regular driving. Now my question is; should I sell this diff and keep a stock twin diff or would this be a waste of such a unique 'found'? Regards, Rutger Ps; car will be full-on build with a pair of gt2530's

Na diff oil cooler necessary?
I bought a R200V diff from a na Z32 as an upgrade over my normal diff on my s13, but it doesn't have the oil cooler. The diff won't have to cope with more then 240bhp, but it will see 140mph more then often. Would this be problem or is it ok with this power output? Thanks for any help, Rudi.

Solid Engine Mounts
Why would the missus complain 'bout those vibrations  But serious, I always thought solid engine mounts were pure race and impossible to drive on the street due the shocking and vibrations? Or is it quiet ok on the Z?

High Idle
My s13 once idled 1600rpm cause the throttle valve sensor(idle switch) was loose, maybe that's the cause

Rear lower control arm ball joint!
It might be cheaper to buy an s13 lower arm from an sxoc.com member (junkyard might be more expensive), it (s13)weighs less so the bushes might be in better condition as well :)

Rear lower control arm ball joint!
Correction: I said 'the sx has a...' but it must say 'the zx has a...'.

Rear lower control arm ball joint!
As far as I know, the arms on the s13 and z32 are the same, so the ball joint as well I guess. The only difference I know of is that the sx also has a conical ball seat, wich sitts into the aluminium axle (s13-steel). I don't know why they used this seat, maybe to protect the aluminium  .

Lightened flywheels - worth fitting?
And what does that Fidanza flywheel weigh?

Am I the only dreamer on here

ECUs NAs BHP
I'm having trouble finding n/a tuning info as well. It seems nobody cares cause there ain't much n/a's around and it's turbo brother is far more tuneable :( But I think you will have gained up to 250hp, if it's a good ecu wich copes nicely with the other mods  . If not maybe not even better then 235hp :( What chip do you want to buy?

De-catting an NA- should you do it?
De-catting won't do any harm.

De-catting an NA- should you do it?
I would for quality headers (millen), and fit a cat back system, but leave the cats alone. It will also reduce hassle come Mot. less back pressure exhaust will give more horses but often less torque, thats the theory, wich is often right if you look at tuned non turbo cars, like honda's. :slap:

What is the best allround tire?
I think I'll buy the Bridgestones, most here rate them as best. :) But I don't really think that there are any A-brand tyres around that are bad, every tyre has it's goods and bads, it's just what sort of character you want. Nice thing for me is that, since I work at a Renault dealer, I get 20-25% discount at the local Nissan dealer on all parts and about 35% on every tyre that can be ordered    :xxx: How well do the bridgestones last?

Are these any good?
Larger intercoolers with bigger internal diameter pipes will indeed increase lag but will increase power, even on the standard engine. Cooler air and less back pressure against the turbo from the ic is always good. But if the ic is not receiving a full stream of air from the front (like with the stock bumper) you will get a better performance from aftermarket wing mount ones. The rad might get hotter as well with a big front mount one.

UK Rear Wheels vs J Spec - Why?
Urghhh :D It's an old topic but I thought I'd add something. In Ray Hutton 300zx enthusiast companion book he tells that, 'The turbo's wider rears are 245/45zr16, except in Japan where, for some unaccountable reason, domestic manufacturers are not allowed to fit 45-profile tyres.' Therefore they probably had to fit the 225 tyres out back cause 245/50 would have affected the drive ratio to much. :nelson: Cheerz.

OK guys, honest opinion please!
Maybe you could fit it under the rear bumper for a diffuser effect    Or you fit it under the front spoiler like a shovel when it snows

What is the best allround tire?
No Fankenstein, not all tyres have to be round. it just depends on how comfortable you would like to travel :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

What is the best allround tire?
for the zx standard twinturbo wheels? And would wider 255/45or40 rear tyres fit/ be worthwhile? Thanks, Rudi

engines
What I would do is get a Motec or other top spec ecu set up on a rolling road to get the lag worked out with correct fuel and ingnition delivery. This will even give you lag-free launch control, depending on how deep your wallet is.... The zx has variable inlet valve timing so cams can be left alone (i've seen a 650bhp zx still with them), though vernier cam gears would be good. Other lag decreasing should be gained from intercooler hard pipe kits with performance ic's wich are not much bigger but that will flow boost better, and lightening the shafts, flywheel, crankshaft and pulleys. Porting the head would do no good to decrease lag. For higher boost levels forged pistons would be neccessary, or water injection to keep it cool (dunno how well this will work on a zx). Quality exhaust manifold would be good but expensive. Well it's just what I would do if I had bout 9000 pound....

Valve S Seals
Hi Topless, What gets broken on the pcv valve then? How is it possible that that thing sucks oil into the manifold? Cheerz

Valve S Seals
Hi Steve, Maybe your local Nissan dealer would borrow or rent the spring compressor to you. But it would be a bit harder to find an air compressor, which you won't need when the heads are off. I don't know if you've done any modification to your oil system, but at the Dutch sx forum, one guy had his oil catch can fitted badly and it was consuming oil thanks to that, in a way which appeared the same as rotten valve oil seals so check out those things first if you've done oil circulation mods.

Valve S Seals
Hi Steve, If you only want to change the valve oil seals its not neccessary to strip the heads from the block. With compressed air filling the opposed cylinder and using spring compressor part no. KV10111300, you should be able to remove everything (springs & things and then the old seals with a puller) and use a hammer with suitable pipe to hammer the new ones tight. Well, if I'm wrong correct me... Cheers

Tuning the Non-turbo
Hi there, I can buy a non-turbo for little money from a 300zx and would like to know what power upgrades suit the engine best. The engine is 107.000 miles old and I will strip the block down and overhaul it, so things like a knife-edged crank, light weight flywheel and pulley will be done anyway. But what do I do for more power? It will not be fitted to an z32 but to a s13, so an custom head-back exhaust with a Super drager will be fitted along with Apex'i filters. But that's as far as I know. Is it possible to increase the compression ratio and fit value for money oversized pistons (are they availabel?) and is there anything possible with the camshafts (-pulley's) and the head? Will it be safe to polish the intake manifold and head? Any suggestions would be great. Thanks, Rudi.
