  1. Hi Dan Thanks for your advice. I would like to start by going for the two HID's 6000K (and maybe get the Mains later). Please could you give me a quote for two of them UPS'd to SA and I will PayPal you. Cheers.
  2. Nice to hear from you! I've got a Zimbo 1 cent piece if you want it. You can buy yourself something nice :-) Must say, I am really enjoying barrelling down to Durbs and back every day in the Z. Nice how everyone gets out of the way.
  3. Thanks for these helpful replies.
  4. Also, how do I check them and how do I clean them up? I am running rich. Second question: Is the engine coolant bottle on the left at the front supposed to spew coolant all over the floor when you top it up (from somewhere about halfway down the bottle), or does mine have a crack or hole, i.e. is it supposed to be sealed? There doesn't seem to be any cooling problem and no coolant seems to be lost. PS - one other thing, the dipstick in the coolant bottle has suddenly started developing a black smudge at the bottom. I thought about possible blown gasket but that doesn't seem to be the case and there is no engine warning light. Thanks.
  5. How do I know if I have R134a gas? I have a 1990 model. If I have the older gas, how expensive and how big of a job is changing it to the new gas?
  6. Had a search through the topics and there is a lot of mention of leaking fuel lines or the O2 sensor but my problem seems to be straight suction of exhaust fumes in from the back when the window is down. Strangely (or possibly not) this seems to have started up after I had a spot of how's-your-father with a tree and had to have some panel beating done to the right rear above the wheel. Also installed a new aerial and right rear light cluster. Are the exhaust fumes coming in through (a) the seal between the hatch and the body, (b) the light cluster, © the hole where the aerial exits (I see there is no o-ring there), (d) all of the above or (e) somewhere else? Is there a way I can find out? I am thinking of a coloured smoke type of setup. Thanks for any ideas. I suppose I should start by using black silicone on the light and an o-ring for the aerial. How can I improve the seal between the body and hatch? Cheers.
  7. Hi Dan Please could you give me some advice. Firstly, the bulbs I have for my headlights have two parallel flat terminals facing each other. Is that H3 or H3c? Secondly, I am keen to move to HID. However, I believe there is a waiting time when switching on and off. Doesn't sound like they would be much use for the brights. Is it advisable to replace headlights and brights with HID? If I go for bulbs, what would you want to sell me a pair of PIAA 55W Halogens (brightest possible) and ship them to South Africa? Thanks.
